My friggen 4th-grade sister writes better than these millionaires. That's what I find most disturbing.

Did she just get her ass handed to her? Did she resort to firing comments back emotionally with a character limit?

I don't wanna hear about your sister, unless you have one over 21 and single, k thx. :)

I mean that completely in good fun, drivel. The age of technology has evolved into RAPID information. Humans always want to do things faster, faster, faster... More than they want to do things better better better.

Back on the subject though, you'd better perform better, Grant. Notice how Cedrick Benson was falling forward, rather than falling backwards onto his ass whenever he ran into someone? A yard or two here or there tends to add up... As does holding onto the football.

All in all... Don't like the idea of players twittering. Could result in some pretty bad PR situations. If I were GM, I'd let my players twitter, but there would be a three strikes and you're out rule... Have to be professional and careful about what you say if you're a player. Don't be professional and start causing drama? You lose your privilege.

On one hand, I'm happy they're so mad..Shows how much they care. On the other hand, some of the snide comments are a little off putting.

For the players-If you are going to "tweet", you can't pick and choose. When you get your butt handed to you on the field, what do you expect fans to do? Pat you on the back? Say "It's ok!"

Like Ironman said.......he paid out ALOT of money to come to the game, as did MANY fans. And to see a lackluster performance in all areas of the game by your team is unacceptable.

You get paid more for playing ONE GAME then most fans make working their asses off for several years.
So fans have a RIGHT to be mad AND to take you to the woodshed when it's deserved.......and yesterday's game? IT WAS DESERVED.

I am trying to figure out how people like that CEO do it.

"Brevity is the soul of wit," etc. In contrast to my screen name, I am a big believer in conciseness, which is one of the reasons why my average post is quite short. My continual quest as a writer is to say as much as possible in the fewest words possible. Creativity emerges not in the absence of boundaries, but in the presence of constraints. That is why poetic forms like the sonnet were so popular for so many years: they challenged writers to come up with non-trite turns of phrase in a strict format. "Free verse," as Robert Frost liked to say, "is like playing tennis with the net down." So if one desires to use a constrained medium like Twitter to hone one's craft, more power to them -- and for that it could have great value. But there is only value if the writer uses that opportunity to purge all the dross from his words. The problem with Tweeters is they not only fail to do that, they do just the opposite. Twitter thus becomes a platform for unrefined banality.

But, trust me, in the old days, the ratio of shit to value was just as high. It's just that the data set is so much bigger now that it seems worse.

I don't deny this. I'm one of those geeky college students who actually seeks out old sources for his papers: masters theses from the 1920s and the like. As I've read papers from various eras, I've noticed that editorial standards have increased significantly in the past hundred years or so -- and rightfully so. In the era of manual typewriters, a single mistake on a key could set you back a page -- or several, depending on the layout of the page. Today it's a matter of correcting a mistake on a screen. Even more the point, all word processors and major internet browsers have built-in spell checkers. When people write things these days, their screens must be riddled with squiggly red lines that they simply ignore.

So yes, I feel justified in holding this generation to a higher standard.

I will say this: There are some people on this very forum who should probably feel at least a little humbled that a guy like Rockmolder, after a little more than a year, knows more about football and writes better English than they do after an entire lifetime. I know I often feel stupid next to him, anyway, and I'm not a (very) dumb guy.

cheesey, I agree that fans pay a lot and deserve a lot.

On the other hand, I think we can only expect 100% of their efforts. It is an athletic endeavor where two are competing against each other.

Some days, no matter how you prepare, you don't play well.

If you paid to watch tiger a few years ago at the British Open when he shot 81 would you talk about how bad he sucks and send him twitters to the same effect or would you write it off as he just had a bad day?

I think, just as on this forum, you should only tweet what you would say to the other person in person.

I don't blame Barnett for upset with personal attack on twitter. Expect it? yes. Still doesn't change it is in poor taste and no one has that right.

Well the insight from players is mildly interesting, I think this is a good move by Barnett.

Additionally... I respect the amount of effort that Nick has put into rehabbing and getting ready to go.

But for him to act like he is the only player that has worked his ass off and that he doesn't understand the rotation thing... well it is simple. You got your ass handed to you in the running game.. my 5th grade son fights off a block better than a few attempts from Barnett yesterday..

Bishop may make mistakes here and there, but the kid knocks people around inside the box and disrupts things.. freaking disappointed they didn't put him in there to try to help stop the bleeding on the run defense.

But seeing the 'tude of Barnett.. apparently we see that some politics are still in play in Green Bay.

Nick Barnett quits Twitter
Posted by Mike Florio on September 21, 2009 10:53 AM ET
When Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco did it before the start of the regular season, we knew it wouldn't last.

Now that Packers linebacker Nick Barnett is bailing on Twitter until the 2010 offseason, we have a feeling it will stick.

In announcing to his 17,000-plus followers that he's signing off for now, Barnett acknowledges that: (1) he's emotional; and (2) he often forgets that "everything is public" on Twitter.

The move comes a day after he very publicly invited all who booed him for celebrating a tackle during Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Bengals to "KISS MY ASS."

Barnett also says that he made the decision without talking to anyone from the Packers.

We have a feeling he won't be the last one to pull the plug on his Twitter page, during the season if not permanently.

beast (20h) : Not sure why a players views reflect on GB... instead of simply on the player
Martha Careful (17-May) : I bet some of us have had 6+ mRNA jabs, a UKR flag on our walls, and still think Fauci has a thread of integrity
Zero2Cool (16-May) : From what I've read, it's all Jets , not us.
CanPackFan (16-May) : Will there ever be a time when Rodgers' whacko views will not reflect on GB? He is the past, thank god.
Zero2Cool (16-May) : Jan 4th gonna be rough with that start time lol
Zero2Cool (16-May) : Packers schedule listed. Boom.
buckeyepackfan (15-May) : Let the leaks begin. Colts @ Packers week 2, Vikings @ Packers week 4
Zero2Cool (14-May) : WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Bills
Zero2Cool (14-May) : Jets and Aaron Rodgers open up on Monday Night Football,
Zero2Cool (13-May) : $170 guaranteed. This might impact Jordan Love
Zero2Cool (13-May) : Lions are signing QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million extension
Zero2Cool (13-May) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Walter Stanely's son
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes
Mucky Tundra (3-May) : @ProFootballTalk Jaylen Warren: Steelers' special teams coach has discussed Justin Fields returning kicks.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
