Finley Fantasy

to whoever made the comment in chat the other night about picking up Finley....cheers! it spurred the notion in my head that i had [strike]Blow Me[/strike] Brandon Marshall on BOTH my FF teams. i dropped Marshall for Finley both times wayyyy before anybody outside of Packer Nation had the chance to even say "wtf, who?"

got a good feelin' 'bout this one!

Picked him up in my other two fantasy leagues as well. He's just sitting on the waiver wire and not going in the draft at all in leagues without Packer fans.

Quite a reach for him yesterday, though. We'll see how that works out.

One thing that comes to mind for me, with finley:

In a good way, this could mean less of the 5 wide sets. Now bare with me here, i loved the 5 wide set in 07, but consider this:

4 wide + TE(finley) is a better all around formation, because you can flank him out or bring him in for protection, and you still have that 5th, very dangerous receiving threat in the game with this kid. And you can still run it with only 4 healthy(or active) wrs, which we have for a good part of 08.

Death to the fab five!

Long live the fab fin!

If I remember right, they did a lot of 4 wr 1 TE in 07 with Lee. It is tough having so many decisions on who to put out to catch the ball.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Has anyone done any drafts the last 2 days? Where has finley been going in these drafts? I want to pick him up but I have no idea where he should go.

He has the capability to be a freak. Let's hope his mind stays up to par with his physical talent.

I like the way you think.

I like it, too.

I hated the Big Five anyway. It was a gimmick that worked for maybe one or two games.

On the second TD against Arizona, Finley lined up as a WR, ran a route like a WR, and beat a CB. That sends a message to the rest of the league. Bring in an extra CB to guard him, and we just might run the ball right down your throat, with Finley blocking.

I still think he's flying under the radar. If there are no other Packers fans in your league, you can take him pretty late.

I just drafted this afternoon with 12 teams and 15 rounds and finley is still on the waiver wire. I figure he'll stay untill a big game or two but by then i'll have him stashed for nice matchups since I already have Witten.
