I'm as excited as anybody with how well Rodgers has played the last two games, but the real test will be against Dallas. He played well against them last year, but they'll be prepared for him this time. I'm confident, though that if he plays his game, we'll do fine.

Plus, all those Favre-knobbers won't be able to diss Rodgers based on the Dallas game, cause Favre only beat them twice in his career.

It's interesting that the Packers almost lost both of those games against weak opponents with (0-2) records. But go on. It's a party of finger pointing and "I told you so's" around here, I guess.

The big test, however will be when Big D comes to town next week, and oh yeah....there's a little thing called the 16 game season that the "annointed one" has yet to complete. But go ahead, "crown 'em, if you want crown 'em". :thumbleft:

Just don't come cryin' to me if the messiah doesn't fulfill the lofty promises that you are laying at his feet.

I still say that Rodgers is a Tedford System QB that once the rest of the league figures him and the Packer's out, doesn't have the improv skills to win games for you.

He was lucky the Defense stepped up (or rather, the Defense was lucky that they were facing T. Jackson and John Kitna), because there could be 2 Losses rather than wins in the column. And let me tell you, Tony Romo will not make those mistakes to bail the Packers out.

Let me put it this way, if A-Rod was on the Jets, they would 0-2.

Chew on that, Rodger's knob polishers.....

Hey, I love Favre was much as any fan, but loving Favre doesn't mean you can't give Aaron Rodgers any credit. You don't have to diss Aaron Rodgers to make BF look better. BF is actually looking quite good on the Jets (who are by the way a very, very bad team) and might even take them to an 8-8 record, which would be amazing considering how bad that team is.

But Aaron Rodgers is now our QB, and so far, he's completing over 70% of his passes, has thrown 4 TDs, ran in for 1 TD, dodged a lot of sacks, and hasn't thrown a pick. 'Tis true that the real test comes next week against the Cows, but if he lights up the Cows, can you give the guy some credit?

Sure it isn't easy seeing someone other than BF back there. It wasn't easy for me. But Aaron Rodgers is not the one to blame. He didn't make any managerial decisions. He knows that his job is to do everything he can to help the Packers win. If you want to point fingers at anyone, point it at the Packers' management and not the players. They had nothing to do wtih it.

Well, I'm going to go ahead and call bullsh!t on that last bit. Me personally, I'm rooting for Favre to do very well, for a number of reasons. Secondly, you seem to confuse rooting for our current QB for taking cheap potshots at our former QB. Sure, I suppose a couple folks may take their shots here and there, but the overall tone I've seen is that the vast majority here wishes Brett nothing but success, just like me.

The rest is just noise -- like I said, the only people who see it as some sort of competition are folks looking to stir up shit. Brett lost yesterday because the Patriots are a better team than the Jets, currently. Aaron won because the Packers are a better team than the Lions. BOTH of them have played well so far this season.

Which should be a good thing, except for some reason it isn't to you -- you apparently won't be happy until the Packers collapse so you can tell us all you told us so. Have fun with that.

Wrong. Big Packer fan here.

Not a fan of Ted Thompson at all.

I think it is was a mistake for Ted Thompson to shitcan BF in favor of AR.

If you happen to remember, BF had a tremendous year last year and you just don't throw that kind of thing.

The thing that irritates me is that some people here think that Aaron Rodgers is going to do the exact same thing, or better, That, imo, is a big stretch, and one that was unneccesary.

Now if a Rodger's led Packer team doesn't make the playoffs, or is one and done, then it is not an improvement over last year, in my opinion.

This is the rub that so many here so cavalierly don't consider when judging the move that was made by Ted Thompson in August. But believe me, it will be magnified if the Packers don't make the playoffs, or are one and done with a poor showing.

This is why you can't just sweep Favre under the rug, because the history of this team can not be denied. They were poised to make a SB run this year, and Ted Thompson decided to change gears. To me, if they do not at least make the NFC Championship game this year, it is a failure.

There is no other way to look at it.

(So RP...put away the robes and the annointing oil, because this boy has far to go to fill BF 's shoes.)
