Whoa, young bucko, I said +1 for anyone who's willing to flatter me. You just insulted me, and no, that doesn't count as negative flattery in my book.

-1 to you, sir! :eyeslam:

+1 to Wade for one of the most articulate, cogent, well-reasoned posts ever to appear on this forum.

+1 to Rock for correcting a silly mistake on my part.

+1 to anyone else who's willing to flatter me for an applause point.

I don't need no stinking applause points lol, I would be ruining my rep if i actually flattered you 😛
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I just read where a source said the Packers and Raji are closer to signing a deal as of Sunday. Apparantly the deal for Moreno and the Bronco's allowed for more discussion to take place.

Packers closer to deal with first-round draft pick B.J. Raji, source says

The Green Bay Packers contract negotiations with the agent for B.J. Raji got closer Sunday, a source familiar with the talks said, though its unclear if the first-round draft pick is anywhere near signing a deal.

The talks have picked up in part because Denver on Friday signed the No. 12 pick overall, Knowshon Moreno, to a five-year contract that included a reported $13 million in guaranteed money and is worth $23 million total. Moreno is the closest player chosen after Raji at No. 9 overall to sign.

In front of Raji, the closest player who has signed is Oakland receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, the No. 7 pick whose five-year, $38.25 million deal includes $23.5 million in guarantees.

Rajis chances for reaching a deal soon would improve dramatically if either the No. 8 pick (Jacksonvilles Eugene Monroe) or the No. 10 pick (San Franciscos Michael Crabtree) would sign, because then Rajis deal could be slotted off that. But Crabtrees agent reportedly is looking to better the contract of the one receiver taken ahead of his client, Heyward-Bey, so those talks could be prolonged.

If No. 11 pick Aaron Maybin of Buffalo signs, that also might improve the chances of Raji reaching a deal soon. Raji would fall exactly in between Maybin at No. 11 and Heyward-Bey at No. 7, so his deal could be slotted between them. However, Rajis agent might be hesitant if he wants to ensure he gets a better deal at No. 9 than Crabtree gets at No. 10.

I think Maybin can go ahead and sign now and like the article says they can go off 7 and 11 unless Raji wants to wait around for a guy acting like an idiot and I think he wants to play more than that.

If Maybin signs and they don't get something done fairly quickly I would say it's going to be a problem because I don't see the Crabtree holdout ending soon and there would be nothing else out there to hang it up.

Raji's agent needs to be straight up and make it his decision to ride it out if he wants Crabtree money when there is no guarantee the Packers will pay more than the 7-11 middle anyhow.

I don't see Monroe going anywhere with the three guys behind him unsigned. I see a quick Maybin signing now as the key to getting Raji in here the fastest.

If Raji really wants to be on the field like he was expressing right after he was drafted, he needs to fire his agent and hire someone who is actually looking out for Raji.
If this goes another week, the Packers brass should issue a hardline ultimatum; either sign or sit out the year, and move on.
Either he wants to play for the multi millions offered or he can try to get a job just like any other Joe six pack.
This shit makes me sick!

I'm surprised people are getting so worked up about this when the people bracketing him (#8 and #10) haven't signed yet.

I'm shocked at the Raji Hate. Glorified DE? Twinky? I hope he eats lots of twinkies so he's huge and plugs that NT spot up. I want RBs to run seven feet to the left and still be in front of Raji's fat ass.

But he'll show up. This is just (unfortunate) business.

C'mon - you're not really shocked. I mean, it's a pro athlete and things aren't working out perfectly - of course there's going to be hate, that's how it works. Fans hate athletes, except for during those fleeting moments they do something impressive on the field - the rest of the time it's all hate and envy.
