I get the whole literal/practical argument - it's a free country, recession, blah blah.

The argument lies in the whole philosophical (for lack of a better term) angle that others have pointed out...not appreciating the ticket, home field advantage, the thousands on the waiting list etc.

We all take a lot of pride in being "the greatest fans in the NFL" but selling tickets to vikings fans is the antithesis of this.

Maybe we've lost the Nr. 1 spot, but who would be the new nr. 1? The Colts fans who just jumped on the train when Peyton started playing well and will most likely be jumping on the basketball bandwagon when the Colts start to suck? Or the Chiefs fans who did way worse things to Croyle than we did to Rodgers? And those are not the 'bad' franchises like the Eagles.

Given, the Packers fans haven't been that great as of late, but it's not like they're falling down or anything.

Like EVERYTHING else, we as fans are slipping. I THINK we got the "best fans" title when GB was more of a small town, with small town morals. Back then, people taught their kids to respect others, and have some class. Now, we have jerks teaching their kids to curse at AR.
BIG change to the was it was.
Plus, it's a "i want it NOW" world. Everyone is impatient, and if they don't get the results they want NOW, they throw a hissy fit. Just look around you. If someone has to wait at McDonald's for more then 5 minutes, they start complaining. If they are driving, they can't wait to stop their car to talk on the phone, they do it WHILE they are driving. Try going the speed limit on the freeway, and see how many people zip by you like you are standing still.
My Mom used to take HOURS preparing dinner. Now, if it doesn't microwave in 7 minutes or less, it's "WHERE'S DINNER!?!?!"
