Chilly knows his time is short. If he doesn't do something HUGE he will be looking for work at the end of this coming season. He did JUST enough last year to keep the dogs at bay.
If nothing else, if Favre does go there and stinks it up, Chilly can say "It's not MY fault!" And try to save his job by throwing the blame elsewhere.

I think I know why Ryan sold his website. So he didn't have to read thread after thread after thread about Brett vs Ted. Ryan had great insight.

Oh well, better than nothing eh?

This is not worthwhile, it has been done 109 times, seriously, count them on this forum alone.

For the 110th time. Brett RETIRED. The Packers had a QB in the waiting. Gave him the keys. Told him and the team he was the 'guy'. Now Brett understood they couldn't just give him the keys, why can't the rest of the world? Including him? He said he doesn't blame the Packers for moving on because he retired, yet, he wants 'revenge' or whatever he said. Stick it to them?

recap
brett retired
packers moved on, had no choice
brett wants back
brett says cant come back
brett talks to mike
mike says brett no in right mindset to be qb of packers
brett traded

the end, move on have have a great life.

blah blah blah ... more wasted space in the database

Where was Mike McCarthy come playoff time?

Tripp, you completely nailed it. Ted Thompson doesn't subscribe to the "make the team better" way of thinking, or, maybe he does but just sucks at it.

His time is running out and I'm getting gleeful. After A-Rods latest comments I see what this team is all about.
Ted Thompson and A-Rod are like Father and son. A-Rod was gift-wrapped a starting gig in the NFL and now will be a talking head for the grey-haired fool.

Did Thompson and McCarthey approach their jobs this way a year ago?
(I know, I know....major bait, but worthwhile.)

Short and sweet and right answer. Yes. End of thread.

I talked with Sage and Tarvaris. They are competitors. Do they like any of the conversation? (regarding Favre) Absolutely not, Childress said. But they know this. Im charged with adding and subtracting players from this team to make us better. Every day when I walk in this office theres not a day that I dont try to look and see if we can get better at some position.

And if this is going to make us better down the road and its got a chance to happen Im going to take care of the Minnesota Vikings.

I think they did. I think they felt they rather have Aaron Rodgers who was working out all off-season versus Brett Favre who might be a legend, but didn't really start working out until I think shortly after the Draft so that would be May.

Won't debate whether or not it was the right move. Never know, but I think they certainly and I feel like that they went with whom they thought was better.

Much like Minnesota probably believes Favre is better than Jackson and Rosenfals which I believe he is.

When do the Vikings sit down and say who is our QB of the future or will they be like the Bears and the revolving QB door for a while? I know there is a lot of merit for only focusing on the present and getting the best player if he is available, but at what point does trust take a hit. T-Jack has not been as shaky as say Vince Young. By allowing Brett Favre to keep you in the waiting game, I think it hinders the focus of the QBs you have. It affected Green Bay which they freely admitted once the season was behind them. Is all this worth it for the Vikings. They portray themselves as iron tough, but so did we. At what point is there a line drawn in the sand. With any other player it seems that line exists... with Favre... apparently he can do whatever he wants, and it is the team, whichever it is, that perception treats unkindly.

One has to wonder, if the Vikings had Aaron Rodger's on their team after his season last year, would they still be competing for Brett?

I know the answer I would say if I were a Vikings fan.

Minnesota has a decent receiving corpse.

When exactly did he get the injury, I thought it was late in the season, not after week 4

"dingus" wrote:

I think it was around Week 4 at the latest -- and that he might have even come into the season with a pre-existing injury. Just a couple of days ago I was reading stories from early last season in which he was already complaining about the injury. As someone else has pointed out, even in the first half of the season, his play was very erratic: great some games, poor others. (Even with his 6 TD performance, most of those drives started INSIDE Cardinals territory; the victory was virtually gift wrapped to him.) He was just fortunate that overall, his statistics looked incredible before the decline set in.
