In short (so far), Clemson and schools of (arguably) the 5 best CBs in this year's draft class.

Most also had a non-first WR or linemen that the Packers could also be looking at, but seems they're looking at CBs in r round 1.

They could be getting a look at OL's Slater from NW, Leatherwood from AL and Darrisaw from VT.

I remember us doing this for Ted Thompson and then that jerk would draft someone we never heard of a visit or scout rumor or nothing. Dude was a straight up smoke screen!

That's possibile, though some mocks don't think Slater will get out of the top 10 overall, and Darrisaw out of the top 16, so I'm not sure if they'll fall to mid 20s, but you never know.

Yeah, I was surprised the list didn't include Leatherwood, he's a guy I was sometimes projecting the Packers to draft last year in the WAY too early drafts before he said he was going back to school. But seems like that hurt his draft value, as he ran into a deeper class of OTs.

I don't remember pro-day following Ted (I'm sure it happened, I just don't remember that), but the players whom Thompson brought in for visits and people got all excited about... where players that all had yellow or red flags and the Packers seemed to have questions for.


Fans would get all excited, but I think they were bringing them in, to ask questions and see if they should keep said player on their draft board, or take them off completely, or anywhere in between.

Gute and LaFleur have seems much more straight forward. LaFleur openly said, almost seemed like hinting that he comes from the Wolf line of GM which are willing to take QBs if they think they're a potential franchise guy.

And after the 2019 season, LaFleur said he wish they could run a lot more power running and then suddenly got a power RB, and some OL rookies with power (and a Center).
