The Packers interviewed Mike Mallory for their special teams coordinator opening, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. Mallory served as the Jaguars' special teams coach from 2013-16 before being demoted. Jacksonville hired Joe DeCamillis to replace Mallory, but he kept Mallory as assistant special teams coach. Also he was demoted for Joe DeCamillis ... who at one times (2013ish) was hyped as one of the best ST coordinators in the NFL (I have no idea if this hype is true or not).

Mike Mallory was the defensive coordinator for Illinois for two seasons (2004-2005) and then fired. The man who coached those Illinois teams? RON ZOOK. We just got done getting Zooked for the past few years and I quite frankly want nothing to do with anyone connected to Ron Zook however tenuous.

Mike Mallory's resume' does not impress me either, but then it's just an interview. We may need to show some patience with the choice of a new Packers Special Teams Coach. Who are the leading candidates for the position? Is GB looking to promote from the college ranks? That might just be a great idea. 😎
