To kind of broach the subject matter of debate yesterday, we all are too singular in our praise or wrath of personnel matters placed upon Ted Thompson.. this staff here is paid millions to make judgment calls and scouting outlines on both college players coming in, but as well NFL, CFL and other league players that could be acquired by the Green Bay Packers.

Sure Ted may have the loudest voice in the room, but make no mistake these gentleman's opinions and words matter very much..

It is easy to pin the praise or blame upon one person, but honestly no decision isn't a collective one..

Your Green Bay Packer personnel staff...

# Reggie McKenzie , Director - Football Operations

McKenzie oversees Green Bay's scouting efforts of all professional football leagues, including the NFL, Canadian Football League, Arena Football League, as well as all other pro leagues. He also plays an integral role in judging the Packers' current players as well as providing evaluations of potential free agents. McKenzie also contributes to the scouting of college players in assisting General Manager Ted Thompson prepare for the annual draft.

# John Schneider , Director - Football Operations

Named to his position March 1, 2002, Schneider serves as strategic counsel to General Manager Ted Thompson, addressing and evaluating the needs of the team in both free agency and in the draft, incorporating a long-range planning process that examines the Packers' roster, as well as the rosters of all NFL teams, and takes into account the potential effects of injuries and salary cap issues, and explores possible trade scenarios. The 37-year-old Schneider rejoined the Packers after spending three years with the Kansas City Chiefs (1997-99), one year with the Seattle Seahawks (2000) and a year with the Washington Redskins (2001) as vice president of player personnel.

# John Dorsey , Director of College Scouting

An effective player for the Packers during the 1980s, Dorsey oversees the college side of Green Bay's scouting operations, and also is actively involved in the area of pro personnel.

# Shaun Herock , Assistant Director of College Scouting (Midwest)
# Lee Gissendaner , Scout (East Coast)
# Brian Gutekunst , Scout (Southeast)
# Alonzo Highsmith , Scout (Southwest)
# Lenny McGill , Scout (Central Plains)
# Sam Seale , Scout (West Coast)
# Jon-Eric Sullivan , Scout (Mid-South)
# Richmond Williams , Scout (National Football Scouting)
# Tim Terry , Assistant Director of Pro Personnel

Tim Terry, a former NFL linebacker, enters his fourth season with the Packers' pro personnel department after joining the team on Oct. 11, 2004. He was recently named assistant director of pro personnel, after serving as a pro personnel assistant the last three years. Terry's primary duties are scouting professional prospects in the NFL, Canadian Football League and Arena Football League, working under Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson. He also is involved with in-season advance scouting of upcoming Packers opponents.

# Eliot Wolf , Assistant Director of Pro Personnel

His primary duties include scouting teams in the NFL and in-season advance scouting of upcoming Packers opponents. Wolf also assists with college scouting during the offseason.

The son of former Packers general manager Ron Wolf, Eliot's scouting career unofficially began at age 10, when he joined his father in film sessions at Lambeau Field.

# Danny Mock , College Scouting Coordinator

True. But that's how business goes. Everyone contributes - one person gets all the credit (or blame). Fair? No. Reality? Yes.

Reality may be unfair, but I see no reason to just roll over and accept it. Nice post 93z. I've never looked up those blurbs about the staff before. It's fun to see what aspects of team development they focus on.

Ted does have final say in the ENTIRE thing...

But then why should he have people helping him?

EVERY company has a boss/owner but who is under that person and so on and so on..

What I find interesting is that almost all of these "key" people were in the organization when Sherman was here too. Yet he was fired partly, because of his poor personell decisions.

While that is quite true.. ponder back a bit and remember all the reports of Sherman not listening to the scouting reports as much.. basically not trusting his team of advisers.

There were more than a couple reports of such tactics by Sherman.. coaches included. I liked the man, but more than once he placed to much upon his shoulders and not enough in those that were there to help.

Quickest way to find yourself on the outside looking in is not trusting those that are there to help support you.

Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.

Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train

Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
