Yesterday the OL back-ups were Patrick, Flores and Murphy [Assuming Spriggs starts at LG], adding Barclay RIGHT NOW improves the team for "pennies."
But, the move cant be evaluated until we learn how much in guaranteed. If 1.3M is guaranteed, I'm with Yooper [it is a 100% penny pinching BS move]. But, I suspect at most 200K is guaranteed. If so, its not a "move" but a 200K insurance policy against the failure of other acquisitions/draft and/or injury. Having Barclay in camp and among the youngsters is worth the 200K and most importantly it shows GB's propensity to give the UDFA the most of opportunities. Until Trump signs his Executive Order banning UDFAs, this is a huge competitive advantage for GB.
Also, OL is the one position where guys can continue to improve 5-6-7-8 years out.
