man you just like arguing with me don't you LT. People sit here and use the excuse we are the youngest team the last few years but now you name 6 people up there and forget about the other 47 players. Either Ted Thompson has to say we are a young team and stay with it.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

OK OK who is trying to lie to us about this?

Thompson said. We're not having a big youth movement.

Ted Thompson would never say that and if he did what the hell have we been in?

I asume that this is just a correct statement meaning that Bush sucks and shouldn't be on the field. Blackmon has Dime talent in coverage and Pat Lee is still to much of a rough diamond. We wouldn't even have a good Nickel if Harris left.

No one can deny that we're one of the youngest teams, that's just a fact.

Secondly, if you look at it in another way, it could mean that we're not in total rebuilding. We're not bringing in young guys to get us somewhere in 5 years. We are, and should be, playing to win this season.

Why is that an argument/???

Its a honest question

Are those players considered young

and yes we are the youngest team..but that also includes guys that are punched to 3rd on depth chart..How often did the 3rd stringers have any real impact??

Go look up just the starters or 2nd stringers that had played a lot and figure out the age..i bet it isnt the youngest

I dont use the excuse they are young,so dont try to pin that on me

edit, Zero2Cool (fixed your quotes)

The impression I got at the time of reading the quote was that Thompson was implying that we're not getting younger for the sake of getting younger but that for the Packers, the management have come to the conclusion that for many players, replacing aged, costly veterans with (cheap) young players with potential has been the way to go. Not in the case with Harris, and certainly not a rule of thumb to be strictly adhered to.

saying that they're not having a youth movement isn't the same as saying the team isn't young. Thompson didn't say that the team wasn't young. I believe the implication in this quote was that they weren't making a deliberate movement to get younger. Getting young wasn't the strategy, but rather an outcome of the strategy.

Looks like Al was lying

The Packers will pay his $1.2 million roster bonus and play him.

Thompson said. We're not having a big youth movement.

I saw that article the other day. Excellent news. People have been busting his balls for that 2007 Giants game. That sucks for him and at the same time maybe he could have gotten some help at some point in that game. blahh old news. I'll always remember dirtyone for his shut down ability and "we want the ball and we're gonna score"

I do agree with the premise that Ted Thompson woulf trade Harris away for a jockstrap if it made Ted Thmopson look good. And I will get into it; he traded away a QB (arguably the best in the history of the game) because he wanted to move on.

Well, that's the craziest thing I've read in awhile.

Ted obviously doesn't care what he looks like in the public eye. That's why he had the balls to trade away #4. It was unquestionably the right move. From stats to the December collapse.

Remember this, like Allstate Insurance, you sir, are in good hands.

Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.

Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.

beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.

Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
