We suggested last week that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers must be recovering well from arthroscopic surgery on his knee because he was scheduled to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend. Rodgers confirmed as much after completing a round with PGA Tour pro Jerry Kelly when he said his knee is feeling well...

I had to laugh when I saw the title of this article. After watching him sink the birdie putt I linked over in chat, to read this was worthy of a smile. I would hope his knee feels great if he's able to exert the force needed to perform a proper golf swing. I think the fact he was playing golf already told the story.

It's good to see him able to golf. He did say it was nice not to feel any clunking around in his knee even though he wouldn't point to a specific point where his knee was an issue last season. Are we to assume his knee wasn't right all year? OR...is he just not letting on when it happened as to avoid potential issues with it not being listed on the injury report as it should've been?

I think this pi$$es me off.

I have no idea what procedure he had done; but a typical scope has minimal activity for 3 days; usually walking quite normal after a week. In the second week, getting the knee working without full weight like on stationary bike or swimming. 80-90% can return to work in 3-6 weeks depending on the type of work.

Surely the medical staff gave him clearance, if not, it'd be a violation of his contract. But, I find it hard to believe the clearance was 100% unqualified. I see a guy like McKenzie saying stuff like, wrap the knee, if it starts to swell get off of it, or make sure you use a cart.

One thing is uncontroverted: golf will not help the knee heal, it can only hurt it. I guess Aaron Rodgers thinks the golf more important than the possible set-back to his football career. I just dont see him doing this if he's a starving rookie, doing everything in his power to get that chip off his shoulder. I dont think Brady and Manning are playing golf this close to a knee scope.

And again, injury reports are about AVAILABILITY for games. Listing an injury that does not threaten the players availability is also a violation of the rules, as a team can conceal real injuries by listing anyone with the slightest injury.

In that audio Zero linked, Wilde asked 12 if the knee had bothered him and might be a reason for his down year and Aaron said he didn't want to use it as an excuse which I read as passively aggressively doing just that. It was an excuse. So, he has this minor procedure and is already playing golf? That has to mean it was next to nothing.

However, I see reason for your rage. Like I said above, I know what force a full golf swing places on your knees. It ain't little. Like you said, he had to have gotten clearance from our overly conservative medical staff to play.

Let's hope he doesn't do further damage to it. I had a major surgery in 2013 and golf was supposed to be off my plate for a specified time. I waited until the exact day the doc said after my surgery that I would be ready. I went out to the driving range. I wasn't anywhere near ready. It took me over a year to be ready but a lot of that might have been mental. Point being that golf for as wussy of a sport as it's perceived requires a lot from your body to perform it properly. I just hope Aaron knows what he's doing. I gotta believe a surgically repaired knee is going to have some side effects from the stress of swinging a golf club repeatedly.

In the pro-am Rodgers was in 6th place going into the "4th quarter" of making the cut, of which the top 25 make it.

He finished 40th. Rodgers shits himself in other sports too.

[or did he re-injure the knee]

It really depends on what the procedure he had actually did. If it was a basic meniscus cleanup or something similar being at full use within a month is not rare.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
