That was overall team wide self shitting.

Mike needs to get their heads together. I do think they're on the right track.

As I have said, "putting another team away" amounts to "style points", and while it is annoying to all of us when they play like crap late in games, etc., a win is a win is a win. And that's a helluva lot more than most fans of most teams have on a consistent basis.

The NFC Championship game was a fluke, but yeah, I can see your point about not putting ourselves in the position for the fluke to be that costly. Bottom line is, Seattle had MUCH better personnel everywhere other than QB, and even there, our QB was less than 100%. We SHOULD have played not to lose; We just should have done a better job of it.

I think my problem with the soft defense we played at the end is that mentally the guys just seemed out of sorts. Players running into each other and it looked many times that players forgot their assignments. I have no problem with the prevent if it makes them take the short yardage, but giving up big yards especially on 4th down (I know the refs screwed up and it was short but still) just irks me.

Mentally the guys seemed out of sorts during the NFC Champsionship Game at the end. They played great no question for most of the game and the blame doesn't fall on them, but switching to the soft prevent in the 4th killed them mentally and we couldn't get it back when we needed it.

I really think there would be no thread about this had not the NFC title game melt down not have happened.
It's made us all a little more sensitive I think.

Quick, someone tell Mike McCarthy it is OK to add points in the fourth quarter!! (BTW, points scored is a playoff seeding tie-breaker thing)

But have they ever had to use'em for playoff reasons?

Usually they don't get down to #4 and #5 and when they do those normally settle it pretty quickly by the end of the season.

1.Head-to-head, if applicable.
2.Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
3.Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
4.Strength of victory.
5.Strength of schedule.

I'm thinking they did have to go past these for the draft when a couple of teams did horrible and had to flip a coin but that was about it.
