My initial observations w/out reviewing the game.

I just cant effing believe these morons are celebrating up by 15 w/ 1:50 after what happened in Seattle...I just can’t effing believe it.

3 Backup OLman on 46 [Walker, Barclay Tretter]; Mulumba and Gunter Not. I guess they deemed the OLman on FG block more important than ST contributions of Mulumba and Gunter.

Jones-5 targets, 1 PI call and 4 catches [and 1 P call declined] for 85 yards and 2 TDs. And a 6th target, 6th catch and 3rd TD taken away by a ridiculous non penalty.

Cobb survived and his shoulder took a couple of shots.

Rodgers was bit off, hard to imagine w/ 140 Passer rating.

3 supposed weakspots on D:

1. Opening play Raji smacks the C stands him up moves him back a half yard, sheds and makes the tackle. 2 tackles, 2 assists, and a half sack. Raji chasing ball carriers downfield several times; the guy we saw in 2010 that we thought would develop has finally arrived-only question can he keep his head out of his a$$!

2. Running D, no big deal. Daniels didn’t get enough PS work, he was not as physical as usual, had one nice pressure against Duchasse; but his worst game in a long time. Pennell played like a rookie. In a few weeks when Daniels, Jones and Guion get up to Football [hitting] shape and Pennell loses the Yips and Raji keeps playing all-pro level; the DL will be a strength. And when Burnett gets back that’ll help as well times 2 [He will be back and Hyde will be in slot in nickel, which helps the run game].

3. Palmer is the 2nd best ILB next to CM3. He played a great game and he will improve with reps. That’s why Greene quit; the said Palmer is going inside [LOL].

Randall and Hayward were very good. Loss of Williams and House looks covered so far.

Elliot: nice balance and maintaining edge responsibilities and awesome closing speed on his pressure.

Neal gave up the edge too much; Perry must play OLB on run downs.

Same ole’ Peppers-ageless. I think we should soften that cap hit in 2016 w/ a 4 year extension; and he could be a situational pass rusher for those 4-5 of those years. Maybe he goes into hall as Packer w/ 4 or 5 SB wins.

Tackling will be okay, we simply didn’t get enough work in PS, it will improve.

The Penalties are ridiculous; no excuse and winning may set this situation back.

Our RZ offense was perfect...5 for 5: Baktieri should not have been called for holding on that JJ TD catch.

Our RZ Defense was perfect; they are not penalized for the stupid stupid stupid play of Shields on the offside in that 4th down. Also this clown was slipping all game; yes Soldier Field is the worst; but ya gotta change your spikes when slipping like that. I would bench him to start KC if there is a repeat performance like this v. Seattle.

I remember being happy with Palmer from the plays I saw. It looks like he continues to improve and you can't ask for more than that from a player making a switch to a new position.

Great post. It was a phenomenal game, fun to watch and played pretty well by our squad, especially for our offense.

You know what I wish- and this is asking a lot because we are so lucky to watch the greatest QB to ever play (in my unbiased opinion) play for our team right now. I wish that our defense played with a similar pride/mentality as the Ray Lewis era Ravens or Legion of Boom.

Our guys are cheering after a 4 yard run by Forte because that is a success to them! They push back in prevent D with 2 mins left and don't blink at a TD. Stuff like that doesn't fly with a culture of we are gonna dominate you on every play and hit you hard any chance we get.

The only player remotely close to that on our roster, IMO, is Mike Daniels. Think how incredible it would be to have a defense like that on the same team as Aaron Rodgers.

Now if we can just get a punter. I might only be able to kick it 20-30 yards, but at least I'll get significantly more hangtime.

What surprised me was how well Cutler actually played. He looked a lot better then years past, plus he had WAY too much time in the pocket. When you send guys to blitz, they HAVE to pressure the QB, or he will pick you apart.
We better shore some of tha up if we want to beat The Sea-Squaks next week.

Cutler played within himself and the game plan, until the second half of the 4th quarter when they needed to score. Then he became Jay Cutler, Green Bay's 12th man. I wonder if a quarterback has looked so bad against another team Cutler vs. the Packers?

As far as Gunter, he made lots of plays in preseason, but reports suggested he also was giving up a number of plays as well and sounded like he struggled on STs, so I'm not surprised he was sitting.

And I think holding call on Bakhtiari might of been a good call... Bakhtiari likes to lock onto a defenders by grabbing and holding onto them... he does a pretty good job normally of not getting called on it and so he keeps doing it. But once in a while something happens where he doesn't hide it well enough, or the defender moves in a way the ref can see it and they call it.

More observations [First Half]:

On Lacy’s 7 yard run on 2nd play; Rodgers lines up in backfield; found and pancaked the perfect target [LB-Jones]. Didn’t notice Rodgers miss a blocking assignment for rest of game. He showed nice wheels and great awareness on that option looking toss from AR. Rodgers is the complete TE.

When GB went to a 4 WR look; they played Rodger in the Z or X instead of bringing in Janis or Monty.

When going 5 wide [one time] it was the above four with Monty.

Interesting play: 2nd 9 at 6:13 1st Q. Bears show a 3 WR set. GB, like most 3-4s, plays nickel by removing a DL and installing a DB. This time GB removed Neal and installed Randle, who lined up outside on Jeffery. The Pack showed cover 2; W/ Peppers and CM3 at OLB and Barrington in middle. But Dix crashed down to cover short left outside Zone and CM3 dropped into shallow left middle zone; and Shields, Hyde and Randle formed the cover 3 deep zone. Hyde never left middle of the field so, Randle had Jeffery by himself in his deep third. Cutler looked and looked toward Jeffery and by the time he threw to his second read the play was screwed and he threw an INC. Randle was covering Jeffery man and Cutler wanted to thrown, didn’t even think he’d need a second read but could throw the ball. Damarious gets an A+ on this play though his work was statless.

Next play GB goes into dime w/ Bears in 3WR, 3rd and 9: Peppers, Daniels, Neal, CM3 [Front L-R]; Richardson, Barrington and LB; Randle, Shields outside and Hayward in slot, w/ Dix and Hyde playing 2 deep. Richardson’s job was to cover Forte, which it appears he did well: but Cutler never got a chance to look that way as Peppers destroyed Long.

Elliot had that nice pressure on Cutler and at 1:04 in 2nd Q he’s lined up at LOLB and came all the way across the field to catch Forte from behind for a 6 yard gain. That’s 2 splash plays in a half, not bad for a youngster who only played a few snaps.

beast (15h) : Not sure why a players views reflect on GB... instead of simply on the player
Martha Careful (17-May) : I bet some of us have had 6+ mRNA jabs, a UKR flag on our walls, and still think Fauci has a thread of integrity
Zero2Cool (16-May) : From what I've read, it's all Jets , not us.
CanPackFan (16-May) : Will there ever be a time when Rodgers' whacko views will not reflect on GB? He is the past, thank god.
Zero2Cool (16-May) : Jan 4th gonna be rough with that start time lol
Zero2Cool (16-May) : Packers schedule listed. Boom.
buckeyepackfan (15-May) : Let the leaks begin. Colts @ Packers week 2, Vikings @ Packers week 4
Zero2Cool (14-May) : WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Bills
Zero2Cool (14-May) : Jets and Aaron Rodgers open up on Monday Night Football,
Zero2Cool (13-May) : $170 guaranteed. This might impact Jordan Love

Zero2Cool (13-May) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.

Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Walter Stanely's son
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes

Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
