lol.

Dom freakin Capers.

You just know anyone whose first name is Dom, last name is Capers, is bad-ass. I mean Capers, clearly where the word "Caped Crusader" comes from... to say Dom Capers was the fore-runner of modern day super-heroes isn't too much of an exaggeration.

In all seriousness though, it'll be real interesting to finally have some insight into why Mike McCarthy fired Rock, other coaches like Lionel Wasington, and chose to retain coaches like James Campen. At least we won't have the caveat of "sources say" when McCarthy speaks.

On a serious note.. it is about freaking time that Mike McCarthy comes out and talks about the release of 8 Packer People, the thoughts behind it and then shift directly into a positive upbeat swing with the hiring of Capers.

The silence of Mike McCarthy made him look a little weak IMO, not that the reasons for Sanders dismissal weren't apparent, but just a little bothersome that he didn't have the gumption to explain the reasons in public.

Oh.. and there better be an answer to why Moss was retained and what his role is going to be going further.. you know for damn sure the any DC coming in had to know those answers before saying yes.

I've never thought his silence made him look weak. As I've said elsewhere on this site, I wouldn't want an administration that was entirely transparent, especially during this sensitive period that is the hiring process. Now that the major hire has been conducted, it makes more sense to ask for rationales, as there's less risk of revealing important information to other teams.

I don't think Mike McCarthy, Ted Thompson, Mike Sherman, or anyone else owes us explanations for everything they do as soon as they do it. Sports is like war -- information has to be held close to the vest.

Also, I'd lose a lot of respect for these guys if they were airing laundry out for the world to see. For all we know, some of these firings were for personal reasons (chemistry, different vision, etc.) than for performance on the field. Let the guy go with your thanks for all his hard work, and give him a chance to put food on the table somewhere else.

Zero2Cool (30-May) : Bears are the first team to be selected for Hard Knocks
dfosterf (29-May) : Andy Herman and his Pack a day podcast put up GB strengths yesterday. This morning he did weaknesses. They are both very good.

Zero2Cool (13-May) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
