To the person who said it would be 3 million more per that we would have to fork over...

From ESPNWISCONSIN.com:

If Randall Cobb returns to the Green Bay Packers – and there’s no guarantee that the veteran wide receiver will do that – it will be for $1 million to $2 million less than he could get elsewhere, an NFL source confirmed Saturday afternoon.

---So, we're really going to save 1-2 million a year and forage ahead minus Randall. Yup, sounds like prudent business to me.

If you used that $9M to sign an elite pass catching TE, I think you would have a better team.

Or $8M on the TE and the other extra million to keep one of your CBs. Whatever it takes. 👍

TT shouldn't have waited this long on RC18...he should've been extended long ago. He wasn't. Now, the risk of losing him is real.

Julius Thomas is not Jimmy Graham...not even close. I like Orange Julius and would love to see him as a Packer but he, alone, isn't going to fill the Cobb void.

All the pro Ted Thompson crowd is going to look really ridiculous defending him if Randall departs. Again, I don't think that is going to happen.

Exactly. You can't just say "TT screwed up by not extending Cobb before now." It takes two to agree to a contract extension.

Do you honestly think if Ted Thompson offered up a very good deal to him while injured he wouldn't have taken it? It would've negated his desire to gamble on himself as he would've already achieved the type of security he gambled on. Ted Thompson was willing to not offer a great deal to Randall and let him play out the season...sorry, that was a terrible move on his part. Ted Thompson KNOWS what kind of PLAYER and PERSON Randall is. How did Ted Thompson not see this season coming? I think all of us did. What did Ted Thompson think was going to happen when he doled out money to Jordy and Randall posted his career best season?

Again, say Ted Thompson has no culpability...simply untrue.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

The good GM's set a number for every position and stick with the plan.

This is the business side of the game that drive fans crazy.

Can't blame Cobb for listening to other offers.

Truth is if Cobb had been inured again this year his value would be nowhere near it is.

Ted has offered what he has determined The Packers can afford.

The ball is in Cobb's. Court.

Him and his agent will decide where he plays next year.

This is all part of the game.

Ted let's every FA know what he is willing to pay, iit's up yo them to decide what they are going to do.

He doesn't want me to offer him a deal. GARBAGE. He could've locked him up a long time ago if he was willing to realize his value. He was being Ted Thompson HOPING he wouldn't have a season like this as to pay him less. Don't rewrite history...TT is always looking to pinch pennies and his miserly nature may have cost us one of our bright budding stars. I hope RC plays for a team that recognizes his talent and appreciates him.

It friggin sucks that Cobb is leaving.

He is one of Aaron's favorite targets, and currently the only guy we have who plays between the numbers. (Mostly because we don't have a TE).

Also, he is a "packer people". Great character, and locker room guy. And he's young too.

He's like Ted's dream player!

Ugh?.. Sucks.

I still remain optimistic no matter what happens because I believe there to be quite a few intriguing options in this upcoming draft and I am looking for the guys already on our squad to take the next step. This could be a breakout year for Davante.
