The Green Bay Packers have a habit of developing young talent into stars. General Manager Ted Thompson's draft-and-develop philosophy demands for it to be this way, and you only have to look at the wide receivers who have lit up Lambeau Field in recent years to see it's working. Greg Jennings; James Jones; Jordy Nelson; Randall Cobb ...

No question he can, but will he? He kind of reminds of of DD a little bit. Very raw, lots of speed. Took Driver 3 years to get up to speed on the pro game.

With Abby, he'll get reps as a returner, so he's got an advantage there.

I'm really pulling for this kid to make it big.
I'm anxious to see him get on the field this year.

But Janis has break away speed which could be used on kick off returns as well he did in last year's preseason and didn't seem to drop a kick and then showed off very good speed. So I think Janis could be used on kick off returns as well.

I'm just hoping everyone stays healthy... and then the Packers should have more good targets to throw to than they did last year when basically it was just Nelson and Cobb, with the TEs and Adams showing up once in a while.

4 good consistent targets would really help make them even better. Especially if they can get a lighting to go with Lacy thunder. I think the RB Franklin injury might of hurt the change up possibilities more than people realize.

As far as Abbraderis I'm excited to see what he can do but I am not convinced he will ever be healthy enough to have a consistent impact. Janis is a complete unknown at this point though if he works out up to his potential it will be scary.

One thing I blame McCarthy for is not making better use of Janis last year. He really seemed to show enough in the preseason. Other teams don't handle rookies like that. He did the same with Elliot.

As for next year, there's no reason why we can't go five deep in excellent wideouts: Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Janis, and Abbrederis. Yeah, I expect Janis to break out - he could have last season.

He's fast no doubt, but if he was consistent enough behind the scenes, he would have been out there.
