I could be wrong, but I don't think so ...... I actually think I saw decline in Cobb's game last season even at his young age. I see him as less durable. Also, as good as Cobb has been at his best, Nelson has been better - a big play threat AND a "security blanket". In addition, there are market forces involved. I think Cobb will be seen as more valuable around the league; Thus, it will take more money to keep him.

Before the draft, I would have said 90% sure Ted retains both. However, he did what he has done so many times over the years, drafted to give him a stronger negotiating position. If Adams and/or Abbrederisplay up to expectations, I doubt both Nelson and Cobb will be re-signed. It would not even shock me to see both not retained, although my best guess is Nelson stays.

TX Cobb had frikin broken leg. If we surveyed 100 doctors 99 of them would assert that a broken leg will impact statistics for NFL WRs. The other doctor will be from Texas and too worried about immigrants to know what is happening.

I love both but am on the Cobb side of the bench just because of age and for the knife in the heart to the Bears. Hope they can keep both, but the draft suggests it will be only one getting a long term deal unless they can get cap creative. To be honest Rodgers is so good I don't think we need to break the bank on WRs. Sucks for them, but I think there is truth to that. I see our rookies doing well as long as they run their routes and stay disciplined.

Jordy. Hes a proven top 10ish wr and he can be relied on and has proven more onthe field. Hes got plenty of years left too.

At first I was thinking this would be a tough question but after doing some thinking the answer is easy. And the answer is Nelson and here is my thinking: Nelson is taller and that is the trend right now is the bigger wrs. (See Bears.Broncos and Bucs as examples. Which would get Nelson a higher demand than Cobb. The biggest reason is Nelson is the last guy that has the connection with Rodgers. I would like to have both but I am like the others and don't think it will happen.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The Packers had better keep both. They'd be fools to let either one go, but I would prioritize Cobb over Nelson. He's younger, more explosive, a matchup nightmare, and the slot receiver is becoming as important as a split end or flanker.

Nelson turns 29 later this month. He has one more contract left in him. A four-year extension (on top of the one-year remaining on his current deal) takes him through the 2018 season. He'd be 33 at the end of the 2018 season. Cobb turns 24 in August. A four-year extension (on top of the one-year remaining on his current deal) takes him through the 2018 season. He'll be 28 at the end of the 2018 season.

We're talking about two premiere talents, but one is five years younger than the other is. To put it in perspective, Cobb will be younger than Nelson is now at the end of the 2018 season. Assuming he continues to play at a high level, he’ll be worth keeping around after 2018. In addition, the Packers drafted three receivers this year. Each one has a skill set that compares somewhat to Nelson. None can compare to Cobb.

I would work tirelessly to extend both prior to the start of the 2014 regular-season. This is especially true for Cobb. His value is likely to rise a ton after this season. Back me into a corner, though, and I'm taking Cobb.

This thread is asinine because both players will be retained. Nelson is by far the better receiver presently, but Cobb brings a lot to the table too. If I had to choose, I'd go with Nelson because he is more difficult for the defense to defend because of his size, body control, speed, and elusiveness. The other corners around the league call him "white chocolate".

What I like about both players is the humility with which they conduct themselves. I have a hard time seeing either player leaving Green bay anytime soon.

Nelson, on the other hand, has had hamstring problems - which tend to keep coming back. When he did come back, he didn't seem any worse, but both have reasons to be cautious. Like with Jennings and James Jones, it's very possible other teams will see them as more valuable than Ted sees them - Cobb especially.

James Jones probably had better numbers than Fitzgerald...

Jennings was good but not as good as needed to be a star in a team commanded by Christian Ponder.
Jones was good but not good enough to be a star in a team commanded by oh well....

Zero2Cool (16-May) : From what I've read, it's all Jets , not us.

Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.

Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.

Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.

Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
