Isn't THAT bad as compared to what, Ladanian's 1 or Peterson's 9. Fumbles cost us points, and this year points were at a premium.

The kid demanded money and I don't feel he delivered, Is it o.k. with you if I have opinion?

Who's Deshawn Wynn? That guy getting league minimum or the player payed as a superstar.

Too many players nowadays are given a pass. I am mad as hell about this season, and Ryan Grant and the O-line are a major part of that.

4 fumbles all year isn't THAT bad. By the way, I don't hear you complaining about Deshawn Wynn's fumble...

Go pack, I think your post is screwed up. Not the opinion, the whole quote thing... I'm confused (not that unusual) You are quoting Dakota, right? "The kid" thing is a bit of a hint to me... I can't quite figure out where everything goes there...

Can anybody give me the Grant "bottom line" here? He's a 4.75 million dollar cap hit... 4 million in ltbe incentives. 750k in base salary. I thought I read a discussion about 1.5 mil missed ? Is that right? How much did he earn?

"go.pack.go." wrote:

Grant's incentives are salary increases next season. they were set up 500K for 1000, 1.5 mil for 1250, 2.5 mil for 1500. Not cumulative. So his base salary for 09 now moves from 750K to 1.25 mil then he also has 3 Mil in RB next year so his cap number is going to be 4.25 million in 09'

Back to the topic at hand..

Grant isn't upset.. the contract is probably about fair to under values with missed incentives and he sounds ready to commit to the offseason.. press looking for a story.. strike that.. trying to create one.

You seem to be really "up-to-snuff" with this, and I appreciate the multiple clarifications and explanations given so far. I'm going to need one more :thumbleft:

OK -- This year Grant got:

A 3 million dollar roster bonus when he signed his contract Yes?

750k in base salary Yes?

A 500k roster bonus for being on the active roster a certain number of games Yes?

PLUS the yardage bonus of (what was it 150k or 350k) THIS year, Yes?

I addressed this to packfanwithtwins, but anyone can answer/clarify.

I'm anxious to see Ryan Grant next season. He was starting to turn it on at the end of this season, hopefully he won't be injured in training camp or early in the season.

I haven't found a break down that goes into that much detail on his contract. Only the big incentives for yardage for his next year base.

Grant also could have earned another $600,000 for placing in the top five among NFC rushers. Grant finished sixth - 35 yards behind the Bears' Matt Forte - to pocket $150,000.

This was from JSOnline. That is all that I can give at this point.

Grant receives quite a bit of praise, mostly deserved, but coughing up the football seems to be something he does. Had Seattle been able to pull out that playoff game last year, how big of a goat would he have been? Would he have even been able to hold out?

"longtimefan" wrote:

You are aware that in 2007 regular season Grant fumbled a total of ZERO TIMES

His 1st fumbles were vs Seattle

He has less this year then AP, Gore, Steven Jackson...

I think of Ahman Green more of a fumbler than I do of Grant

I remember him fumbling against the Vikings (I believe) before he became a starter. So he did fumble at some point during the regular season.

Actually, I think you just helped me on the 150k vs. 350k question. He got both.

Here is what I THINK Ryan Grant earned THIS year:

3.75 million in Roster (Signing) bonus and base salary
500k for playing a minimum number of games
500k for achieving 1203 rushing yards
150k for finishing 6th in NFC rushing

That's 4.90 million That is also close to his cap number for 2008, NOT the 4.25 million I had seen reported earlier in the year. It was 4.75 mil

This makes me think he earned more than that, because that 4.75 mil wouldn't include a whole bunch of mickey-mouse weird crap they throw in these likely to be earned incentives.

I think many are unaware of the minimum game bonus he was getting this year, and are failing to take that into account when figuring out how much he made.

Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then

Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
