Both sides of the ball need them. I could easily see us taking 2 DEs, 1 NT, 1 LT, 1 C.

That leaves 3 picks to add RB, S, and LB. WR and TE can wait. Personally, I would love to see this happen this year, as the trenches look deep this draft, and that is where the battles are won and lost. I don't want us to lose anymore. I want us to win.

I'm thinking it would be great if we had guys like Mike Neal, Marshall Newhouse, CJ Wilson, Mike Daniels and ED'S fighting for jobs with a massive talent infusion. That is how we will become a better team.

It is going to depend on the board and who falls to them. I am going to guess that this is what they end up with.

DE, S, WR, RB, C, QB, NT, TE

(not in that order.) I won't be shocked if they grab a CB or LB because Uncle Teddy feels that is the BPA. I just don't want it to be in the first 3 rounds.

I just don't see Ted spending 5 picks on the trenches.
Perhaps 3 though.

I'm hoping for no more than 5 picks period. We don't have room for 8 rookies.

This is looking like a good year to trade UP. I keep hearing that teams all over are wanting to move back. Which would make the cost of moving up less. We might be able to improve quality of a pick rather cheap.

Otherwise, try to trade our 1st moving back, and bundling what we have to maximize the number of 2nds and 3rds. If we could come out with 2 2nds and 2 3 thirds plus one later round pick I would be happy. With the both 2nds being lineman (one each side) and the 3rds being maybe a MLB, WR and the late rounder could be anything but a punter or kicker.

I hope like hell he pounds both lines. This is a good draft for that. The only kicker I see is we need an OLB, as insurance should Perry run into any trouble coming off of injury. They seem pretty set with S, if they want to roll those same guys out there. I trust McMillian will prove to be a better player in year two, and they kept Sean Richardson on the roster last year for a reason. He may prove better than any draft choices at the position this year... just a guess.

RB is another position that should to be addressed, as Green and Starks have proven unreliable. However, they may trust Benson to make a healthy run throughout the season this year, and they can probably add a UFA if need be. I'm certain they have that position well targeted with their options.

PackFanWithTwins, I like the idea of trading down in R1 then back into the R2/R3, in essence, doubling up in that section of the draft, as much as I don't want them to miss out on the best R1 talent they can get at 26. I'm kind of hoping we trade away our R1 for next year to load up this year.

Not going to happen.

Though DL OL DL OL DL/OL would be really cool with the first five picks.

Not going to happen. Ted refuses to do a draft that doesn't cause me to bitch throughout.

On the other hand, as I am without TV or the ability to stream at home now, perhaps he will. 🙂

1RB, 1FB, 1 C, 2 DT’s, 1 WR, 1TE and 1S

This is what I guessed when put together my 53 man roster, so I will stick with my choices.

The only change I would think about is dropping the FB and adding a QB.

Either way FB or QB will happen late in the draft.

I could see 3-4 easy, but not five. Still need LB, WR, TE, and RB.

I could see OL and DL early because of the depth at those positions and maybe a C in the 3rd or 4th.

The risk is focusing on positions and letting really good players go by at other positions when team needs change every year.

I can't see drafting this many linemen in one draft being the way to go to improve those positions over the course of the next few years. It's forcing it. I know many want to see the OL and DL play improve....but...I don't see this getting that accomplished. It's too Sherman-like for me.

Draft the best player with the most talent that's available. They will find the field and make the team better.

Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.

Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.

buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
