A mechanical failure at the digital transmitter site of WLUK-TV, Channel 11, caused screens to go blank for thousands of Green Bay Packers fans during Sundays game.

The pump that circulates water to cool the transmitter failed, said Patrick Krohlow, a spokeman for the Green Bay station. That caused the equipment to shut down.

While the analog signal continued, those watching WLUK digitally over the air or through cable, satellite or telephone systems couldnt see the game.

It took 35 minutes to repair and restart the transmitter, Krohlow said. Its the type of failure thats unpredictable. When equipment runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, something like this could happen any time. Unfortunately, it happened during a highly watched program.

Historically, more than half the regions population watches Packers games.

************************************************************
If you didn't upgrade to digital you could have seen the game.

Nowhere in the story is the word sabotage used.

The cause of the failed pump is not addressed. The reader might assume equipment fatigue.

The story does not mention any reports to The Department of Homeland Security.

The word terrorism is not used.

No law enforcement personnel were quoted.

The whole premise of the story is that this was just an accident.

Me: "You are the duty officer again, Colonel?"

Lt. Col. S.: "Yes I am, may I ask who is calling, please?"

Me: "Well, Colonel, you might remember me from a few weeks ago... I'm the fellow that reported my buddy having sighted one or more UFO's while bar-hopping in Wisconsin...what a coincidence that you are on duty, yet again."

Lt. Col. S. : "I was just thinking the same thing myself, it must be my lucky Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo India November Golf day."

Lt. Col. S. "What can the Armed Forces of the United States of America do for you today, sir?"

Me: "Well, I would like to report a suspected incident of sabotage involving the local affiliate of a major national television network."

Lt. Col. S.: "And you witnessed this "incident", sir?"

Me: "Well, not exactly...you see...it was reported to me by one of my fellow posters on a Green Bay Packer forum, and since I DID witness the end result because we couldn't watch part of the Packer game, and we were all blaming Zero..."

Lt. Col. S.: "Zero, sir? This incident does NOT involve cheesey, this time?"

Me: "Ahhhh, well..... Not the cheesey you might be thinking of sir....this is a different cheesey, and I as I was saying were all blaming oh, too, I mean, Zero two, and as the gam...."

Lt. Col. S: "Lemme see if I have followed you so far...this is a different kind of cheese, reporting this, is this what you are saying?"

Me: "Ahhhh, well.... It's really more a matter of a different kind of PERSON, but he also calls himself a cheese....I don't know if I'm quite getting my story across here, Colonel..."

Lt. Col. S: "Well, what kind of cheese is THIS cheesey...swiss, provolone, what am I dealing with here..."

Me: "Well, ummmmm, he would be, ummmmm, California Cheese, Colonel, but more accurately, he would ummmm, be... California Cheez, as in Charlie Hotel Echo Echo Zulu, and he wants you to know he considers it sabotage."

Lt. Col. S.: "Sir, I have a flash message for you. Due to the wonders of pentagon communications and eavesdropping equipment, we were able to discern the exact culprit and/or culprits involved as regards your incident and the undermining of the viewership of that football game. We have investigated the situation rigorously, and concluded that it was your ineffective lines that sabotaged that game, coupled witha failure by your quarterback to come through in the clutch when needed. Have a nice day, and wish your drinking buddy cheesey my best, along with Zero2cool and California Cheez...and sir.....please go ahead and call in a couple of weeks if anything else pops up, as I am going on leave effective 1600 today for a month."

It was Ted Thompson.... he cut Wluk's water supply to save cap money. He then traded the station manager away for 2 draft picks.

I know what they're watching. They Tivo Ford and Chevy truck commercials.

If they aren't watching those, they watch Oprah Winfrey re-runs, or NASCAR, or monster truck shows, or pro-wrestling, or MMA, or UFO/conspiracy specials, or Brett Favre tributes, or AG-Day. If no hunting show is on, that is. (Sorry, making fun of myself, too)

The half that don't watch are at someone else's house watching.

As long as we realize it wasn't Zero's fault.

TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes
Mucky Tundra (3-May) : @ProFootballTalk Jaylen Warren: Steelers' special teams coach has discussed Justin Fields returning kicks.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.

dfosterf (28-Apr) : Bowden long snapper Wisconsin. Consensus best LS in college.
dfosterf (28-Apr) : We got Peter Bowde
dfosterf (28-Apr) : I personally interpret that as a partial tear that can be recovered from with rehab
dfosterf (28-Apr) : MLF said Kingsley Enagbare did NOT tear his ACL and did NOT require surgery, and that he is "looking good" for the 2024 season!
beast (28-Apr) : T.O. son signs with the 49ers
Mucky Tundra (28-Apr) : damn those vikings

beast (27-Apr) : Kitchen was all high from Miami, he was more lucky than talented in 2022 and it showed in 2023
beast (27-Apr) : Reportedly Packers have UDFAs Jennings and Jones
beast (27-Apr) : OL – Donovan Jennings, USF OT – Trente Jones, Michigan
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : Interesting draft. A bit shocked that we didn't select an early CB. Definitely have Safety help. Pretty happy overall.
dhazer (27-Apr) : wow the last 2 picks are really stupid and probably will be special teams players Top 10 draft pick next year book it
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : I think he ended up with a terrible RAS score
dhazer (27-Apr) : Anyone know what went on with Kitchens from Florida? At 1 point he was to be the Packers 1st round and he is way down the board now
Martha Careful (27-Apr) : Z, could you please combine my thread with yours please. I obviously did not see it when I Created it
