As for economic whores, that's apples and oranges. I'm talking about war and only war. Not morality.

And for anyone who thinks war will go all out, you're smoking crack. America has resources. The world has too many mouths and not enough land. America's one of the few large chunks of land with good farmland left. NOBODY is gonna attack us, whether all out or guerrilla.

I agree with being the "police of the world" as it has been described here.

If we don't do it, no one else will.

No one else. Stop. Pause. Reflect.

I'm not particularly fond of the situation, but it is what it is.

I believe we have gone to war about as wisely as was possible at that time, in my memory.

I'm cursed with the knowledge of just how heinous our fellow man can be, coupled with a set of principles that says that on my watch, "this will not stand." The fucking advantage-takers will not have the advantage any longer.

You girls can debate it all you want, and I will not argue, but I say that if given the chance, I will stand for me, my country, my principles, what is right and fair, my family, SOMEONE ELSE's FAMILY, and all of the simple rights that all desire. When I am there on the ground, I will give my life before I back down on these kinds of principles. My life. It's worked so far.

I saw in my lifetime Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge roll, for one small example. Not in a history book, on the ground. We live with evil. We really do. If you don't know who the Khmer Rouge are (reflect a moment, here) then you REALLY need to STFU and take a remedial history lesson (including ALL genocides, including later ones) before spouting off. imo

I'd like to hear about your INVESTMENT in changing this world, just ONCE. If you feel that voting for Obama was one of those, (for example) tell me about it...if you feel like it... in a nation that is STILL AT WAR, (while most sit on the sidelines)

Do you really believe that we need to permanently station armed troops all over the world to protect other countries from themselves? I certainly don't.

Do you think the stationing of those troops is a selfless, altruistic gesture on the part of the United States? I certainly don't.

Of course evil exists. Of course evil men will rise to power and do bad things. And when that happens, nations that have the ability absolutely do have a moral obligation to oppose them. But that's not what's going on here. What is going on here is America smearing money and troops all over the globe in an attempt to curry favor and coerce cooperation towards advancing OUR interests. And that, under any label, is wrong. And it's especially disturbing when we keep doing it beyond the point where can no longer afford to take proper care of our own people at home.

And my investment? 20 years of my life in the U.S. Navy, and 8 years of government contract work since. I love my country. If I didn't, the current state of affairs wouldn't upset me so much.

Zombie....ya gotta watch out for those sneaky Canadians.....late at night they sneak across the border down into Montana and spread thousands of hockey pucks on the highways and interstates. Causes massive accidents and tie-ups in traffic, not to mention the hundreds of head and facial injuries caused by flying pucks.

Then they have the audacity to come down here like nothing is wrong and screw up the poor sales clerks in the stores by passing off those damn Loonies of theirs....and so-called coins. Who ever heard of a reindeer head on a quarter?

Nobody hates the Swiss because they never get involved in anything. Or the Thais. Or the Costa Ricans.

People don't just hate for no reason.

However, I do see where Foster is coming from when he talks about Pol Pot. Pol Pot was arguably the most evil ruler of the 20th century and as non-interventionistic as I am, I'm kind of torn on that one.

Montana - Yeah. Plus they talk funny and they don't lock their doors.

Do we really need a strong military? Who's gonna attack us? The Canadians?

I think the best model is Switzerland. Neutral in every war and the average family has a machine gun. How many times has Switzerland been conquered?

Truth is, as long as there are nut cases (like the guys running North Korea and Iran) we need a strong military.
Like i said, it's to PREVENT anyone from attacking us.

Really, if we spent more time taking care of our own instead of sending trillions to other countries, we could get our own debt under control.
I wonder if 50 years from now, we will still have a counrty?

I know a couple Swiss who hated me. Two little old Swiss ladies operated this pensione just a couple of blocks away from the Spanish Steps in Rome. I pissed them off the first day by changing the TV channel in the lounge.

Then, the next day, some of my fellow Americans (this was a college trip in 1978) threw me into the fountain at the bottom of the Spanish Steps. So I trudge back to the pensione, absolutely dripping wet. Got screamed at for dripping water on the carpet (which probably hadn't been cleaned since Mussolini was in power).

Trudged on to my room, sat on my bed only to have the thing collapse to the floor. Wood splinters fly everywhere. (Bed was probably older than the carpet.)

(No, I wasn't fat Wade then. Even dripping wet I was probably under 175 pounds.)

So, after finishing changing, I went back to them and told them I needed a new bed. Old Swiss lady #1 screamed at me. Old Swiss lady #2 followed me back to the room, took a look at the bed and the wood splinters, and screamed at me.

Noticed that there was something inappropriate on the dresser (part of a sandwich, IIRC; it wasn't mine). Screamed at me some more.

(This was also the trip where I was greeted at the Rome airport by a member of Italy's finest and his assault rifle (Beretta AR-70?), and where, later in the "fountain/bed" day I was window shopping for a fancy chess set, and walked right smack into the beginnings of a riot. I did a very quick about face! Heard later than many windows broken, injuries, arrests, etc. Ten minutes earlier and I probably would have ended up getting swept up by the guys with the black panel trucks. The Italian police were not known for discriminating between bad guys and innocent bystanders; nor were they the comic opera sillies we see in a lot of old war movies. (It would be less than two months before the Red Brigades kidnapped and killed Aldo Moro, a former Italian PM.))

Zero2Cool (17h) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (19h) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less

Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
packerfanoutwest (28-Apr) : having a great long snapper is gold
