Thank goodness I don't have one of those. I can't believe that they would put these in the hands of the general public unencrypted. At the very least card readers should be equipped with software from each credit card company to unencrypt a proprietary algorithm.

yeah it surprised me how easy it can be.
after posting this I started to wonder how close the hacker would have to be in order to read the victim's card. In the boonies I don't see a lot of people walking up that close and not being noticed. Of course everyone goes to the big bad city from time to time.
I must say wrapping the card in aluminum foil reminds me of those who wear foil on the head in order to keep the aliens from knowing what they are thinking.

i don't have any of those either - i never understood the need for them.
is it REALLY that difficult to swipe your card? crazy.
