If the defense gave up an average of 19 points per game they would be a top 5 defense in the league.

If that 10 is more than their opponent, that is what dictates them being good.

So yes, NSD is right that KC scored more against us than they usually score. But still, we need to score more than 19 points against a mediocre D. I think they're ranked something like #23.

This defense, outside of Charlie Peprah, is not getting beat because of inadequate physical talent. It's mental lapses. It's OLBs not maintaining the edge to provide containment. It's CB's biting really badly on play-action, leaving receivers open to run deep (or, in the Chiefs case, a slow TE like Pope to run deep). And, based on others performance evaluations from the Chiefs game, it's Morgan Burnett playing Safety like you would expect ex-Packers FB Quinn Johnson to play Safety (horribly, and that's probably putting it nicely).

Making splash plays 2-3 times a game is not going to keep overcoming the fact that besides those big plays, your D is playing like a bunch of rookies who've never been coached on proper fundamentals before.

A defense giving up an average of 19 points would indeed not be that bad. The problem is, the way our D is playing, it's got the potential to give up 35+ points any given week. Hell, it's giving up yards left / right / center.

And the final 2 minutes of the game? Are you f'n kidding me? You know they are going to run it. And they still get 2 first downs on the ground.

This was as pathetic a game from our D as there has been during the McCarthy era. Problem is, the mistakes are recurring at an alarming level; they are mostly all mental lapses that should easily be corrected. 13 weeks in, they haven't been. NSD mentioned something about not wanting to face the Saints because our D won't be able to stop their offense even once. The way the D is playing, that possibility is not an exaggeration.

I was at the game and it was a very miserable experience. The Packers just looked like they didn't want to play the game.

KC receivers were WIDE open. Some to the point where there wasn't a defender within 10-15 yards sometimes (the pass to Pope was one). Capers was running a very soft zone defense and hardly dialed up a blitz on KC. You can give any quarterback in the league that time to throw with wide open receivers and they will have a field day.

Our defensive line missed Pickett and is just not good all around. Raji is being double-teamed all the time and Mike Neal is basically non-existent out there. Matthews was easily handled as well. The Packers defense created ZERO turnovers. Last time they did that was the last time they lost...2010 Patriots.

Offense was just as bad, if not worse. What I couldn't understand was why Ryan Grant wasn't given the ball more? 12 carries for 63 yard (5.5 avg) and he was being motioned out of the backfield a few times (more than I have ever seen). I am guessing that has a lot to do with Aaron's play calling at the line. The receivers and Rodgers were just off all game. Randall Cobb was the only receiver who really came to play. People shouldn't credit Finely with all those drops because a lot of those throws were terrible. Finley made an amazing over the shoulder adjustment to a pass to set up Driver for a touchdown.

The offensive line injuries don't do the Packers any kind of favor. They were just as off as the receivers were and now we are fighting injuries. And though I know he is injured, I am sorry to say that I am not sold on Sherrod...at all. There were multiple plays where he hardly even touched the defender.

As the title states though, 13-1 isn't so bad and this has to be a major wake up call to the players and the coaching staff. The Packers have to make do with what they have right now and make it work. The injury bug was a lot worse last year and they were able to overcome that bump. Back-up players need to step up in the meantime and just get it done.

Side rant... a lot of Packers "fans" have made me sick to my stomach on twitter with the personal attacks on the players. I just couldn't believe some of the stuff that was being said to these players; more specifically to Newhouse, Neal, and Finley (who I don't believe checks his account anymore). It was embarrassing seeing some of these "fans" attack the players because of a single loss. Social media makes it way too easy for morons to act like even bigger morons.

13-1 isn't so bad.

This is not a championship team. Not Anymore.

The defense has to get so much better. It is awful.

And now, Our o-line is a complete friggin' wreck.

It's been fun, but let's get real.

I'll admit, all these injuries is not the way a team would be want to go into the last 2 weeks of the season, but there is time.

beast (5h) : Not sure why a players views reflect on GB... instead of simply on the player
Martha Careful (23h) : I bet some of us have had 6+ mRNA jabs, a UKR flag on our walls, and still think Fauci has a thread of integrity
Zero2Cool (16-May) : From what I've read, it's all Jets , not us.
CanPackFan (16-May) : Will there ever be a time when Rodgers' whacko views will not reflect on GB? He is the past, thank god.
Zero2Cool (16-May) : Jan 4th gonna be rough with that start time lol
Zero2Cool (16-May) : Packers schedule listed. Boom.
buckeyepackfan (15-May) : Let the leaks begin. Colts @ Packers week 2, Vikings @ Packers week 4
Zero2Cool (14-May) : WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Bills
Zero2Cool (14-May) : Jets and Aaron Rodgers open up on Monday Night Football,
Zero2Cool (13-May) : $170 guaranteed. This might impact Jordan Love

Zero2Cool (13-May) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Walter Stanely's son
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes
Mucky Tundra (3-May) : @ProFootballTalk Jaylen Warren: Steelers' special teams coach has discussed Justin Fields returning kicks.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
