As we head into December and we're under .500 after going 13-3 last year, how do you think Thompson has done in putting this team together? I'm not all that disappointed in Rogers, it looks like with some training he'll be pretty good. I'm very disappointed that it looks as if the offensive line woes still haven't been addressed. We let a premeir defensive lineman go but we found out Harrel is probably a bust. Our punting game and our special teams have regressed. Hawk hasn't become an impact player. Barnett regressed before his injury.

It looks to me at this point of the season that perhaps the biggest mistake of Thompson is not using some of that cap money to secure some veteran free agents to fill some holes. I also think he made a mistake in keeping Sanders as the defensive coordinator.

let a premeir defensive lineman go? who and where did he go?

I think the product of this year has more to do with a first year QB, an injured, incosistent defense and a tough schedule due to our good record last year.

I think Ted has some things to take care of this offseason. Left side of the Oline, an above average pass rusher opposite of Kampy. If he does that, this team is looking SUPER.

I think he's talking about Corey Williams to the Browns.

I don't know wtf he should or should not do... or what he has or has not done...I can't figure if anybody is any good week-to-week, much less year-to-year. Cripes, against the Bearce we looked like a Super-Bowl contender. Monday we looked like my high school team...and that ain't a good thing, trust me. Personally, if I was him, I'd be taking up some serious hard-drinking right about now. Screw it, I ain't him, but I'll just go ahead and take up the hard drinking anyway.

I think Ted's major problem was that he didn't immediately replace all the players that left.

Thompson failed to replace Corey Williams adequately, and he failed to have a contingency plan when KGB never recovered from his surgery.

That's my biggest issue with him at this point, can he have players ready to replace Driver, Woodson and Harris, Taush, Cliffy when they retire, not a couple of years later.

Thompson has proven he can fix weak areas on this team (RB last year, DB couple of years before), so I don't think it's something to really worry about. Regardless, Ted has got to start getting players that will be ready to go exactly as some of the important vets on this team can't maintain a high level of play.

This off-season though, Ted's priorities have to be the lines. O and D lines need some boost.

Agreed. You could make the argument that this team needs nothing more than two players. A LT and keep Colledge inside or preferably, a LG, and move Colledge outside. Add a DL (tackle or end as Jenkins can be moved accordingly) that can pressure the QB and I think this team is as strong as any team in the league given that this team is still young. I suppose a new punter as well.

At any rate, that's only 3 spots, two of which (punter and interior lineman) are fairly easy and inexpensive to fill.
Ted Thompson has made some mistakes, as does everyone, but he hits far more than he misses. On the whole, I think Ted Thompson grades out very well.

He has more hits than misses overall.. above average in talent evaluation and building a quality roster.

Major issues this year.. banked to heavily on the growth along both lines and didn't have an effect plan B in place when shortcomings were seen..

People point to injuries.. well all teams have them, if Jenkins was that vital to this team, there is some breakdown in covering the depth on the roster.

KGB was a risk going in.. I couldn't believe he made the final 53 with the questions and salary he commanded..

The Offensive line.. it was inconsistent and reeks of lack of development along the whole line.. here I lay more blame at Mike McCarthy and his staff's feet. Mike McCarthy for not addressing the lack of growth the past two years and shaking up the staff there and the staff for a piss poor job of developing talent...

IMO.. it is time for Mike McCarthy to evaluate a few position coaches.. namely Offensive line and tight ends. Also a overall review of Sanders performance and maybe allowing Moss to take another step in his growth as a coach.

NOT SURE---and didn't care about the $$$--salaries seemed to have almost caught up w/him--- one trick pony or not, had that trick still worked, the pay was OK

AGREE-- I LAY BLAME WITH THE WHOLE FRIGGING ZBS AND THE PERSONNEL DECISIONS THAT MUST ACCOMPANY THAT AND WE NEED THOSE TWO GUARDS (54th reference- if anyone is counting :thumbleft: ) AND DO N O T GET ME GOING ON THIS ONE again...

Martha Careful (4h) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
