IMO, the only player that left GB this off season in which is talented and sad to see leave was Jenkins. His the only player that actually had an impact on the team. All the other players that left are replaceable.

Who else agrees?

Jackson: Blahhh / Grant + Starks + Green.
Hall: Blahhh.
Nick Barnett: 2 years injured / All ready replaced by Bishop.
Jenkins: Talented but injury prone / Neal* all tho no yet replaced.
Chillar / Poppinga: Injured ... Zombo / Walden can produce as good or maybe even better.
Colledge: Who Cares ... LOL

James Jones: I think he'll be back but if he doesn't ---> Finley could easily replace him on a 5 WR play

3 / 7 of these players weren't playing in playoffs / SB.
Jackson was just in due to Grants injury + Starks PUP (rookie year) even tho, Starks got the reps in the playoffs.
Jenkins was playing injured.
Colledge: Once more ... who cares.

I don't know if I missed anyone, feel free to chip in.

Well we lost Tauscher, but he was hitting the wall, plus we've replaced him.

I do feel like the longer James Jones goes unsigned, the higher the probability that he ends up staying in GB. Whether this is correct or not, I do not know. Whether this humbling process will have a positive or negative effect on his game, I do not know.

I know releasing Barnett was a strong possibility, but I didn't think we'd get rid of Chillar too.

You mentioned Zombo and Walden, but they don't play the outside.

OLB: Matthews, Zombo, Walden, draft pick and UDFAs
ILB: Biship, Hawk, Jones, draft pick and UDFAs

that's just the depth chart as of the start of camp ... not saying we're keeping them all...

Firstly, Barnett was injured two years (2008 season and 2010 season) but he gave it his all otherwise. It should say something when beat writers respond in-game that Nick Barnett has to have a serious injury because he hasn't come back on the field (as Tom Pelissero did when the Pack played the Vikings in 08). People may not agree with his attitude - to each his own, really - but it's hard to make the case Barnett isn't talented when he produced well during his tenure here.

Secondly, Brandon Jackson. Dude gave up all of ZERO sacks in his time with the Packers. Considering the playing time he got behind a less-than-stellar O-line, that has to count for something.

As for Chillar: he was our best coverage ILB. Granted he was injured and would not contribute much, if anything, this season, but it's hard to find solid depth at the position. If I'm not mistaken, when Capers turned to his big Okie package, it was Chillar who replaced the Safety.

Finally, Finley would be the absolute worst choice to replace Jones. In 5 WR sets, Jones lines up on the outside. You want your best playmakers lining up in the slot to give them a chance to work mismatches. So moving Finley, arguably our best playmaker, out of the slot would be a bad move.

For the record, Hall - when healthy - has been amongst our best special teams players. He is injury prone and that creates problems, but on a unit that has downright struggled past couple of years, it is hard to say removing its best player will make us better. Definitely hard to say that when Hall's replacement (Quinn Johnson) is definitely one of the lesser players on our special teams.

1. I think the loss of b-jack will hurt us due to his blocking and ability on the screen. We have to cut somebody at RB though.

2. Is anyone really surprised that Barnett will not be playing with us this year?

3. I am glad we signed Jones. Dominant passing and good D won us the SB last year and keeping these strengths gives us the best shot this year.

3. The loss of Jenkins hurts but we will pick up Jolly to take his place. . .

The initial post is not bad. It's the thread title that's bad. Jenkins is not the only talented player who was lost, but he is the MOST talented and the hardest to replace. I fully agree with that sentiment. Jones was the second best player who was up for grabs, and they got him back, so I'm happy. We've known for the past five months that Jenkins would be gone.

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.

Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
