If it's true, they will not get away with it...no sir, not this time. I find it interesting that when you go to the Houston Chronicle website, it isn't even listed as a story. If you want to find the story, you need to put it in a search box. Once you do that, it takes you to a story with a dateline from Green Bay.

Well Houston, I have some news for you. Not only will the whole state of Wisconsin be looking over your shoulder, so will the rest of this country... If you aren't too busy, you might want to send one of your own reporters to find out wtf happened, other than the police statement.

I am reserving judgement, but right now this one's getting near rapid failure of the smell test as regards the police... the pill thing is kinda weird, though... again, reserving judgement...

I'm sorry but waiting to hear all the facts is not a bad thing. And just because racially oriented police violence has occurred in the past doesn't mean that's necessarily the case this time. Now, do initial indications lead me to believe Mr. Driver was beaten by two cops? Yes. Am I ready to condemn anyone yet? No. And I'm especially averse to start making assumptions as to why this might have happened (i.e. racism).

Edit: "this country needs to wake the * up"

Let's say you're right and it was racially motivated. I take particular offense to lumping in an entire country with two alleged racists.

Wow, "object forced down his throat" Are you kidding me? There is no judgement to reserve. regardless of what and old man said or did to the cops IF ANYTHING, you dont do that to another human being.

"Took him behind a gas station"
"Didnt make it to the police station"
"lying on the ground bloody and unconscious"

Looks like Houston's finest left Mr. Driver for dead. I hope he wins a 20 million dollar lawsuit for this.

Yes, there is a such as thing as due process on this type of deal.. so one can't convict the police right off the bat.

However there are two things about this story that piss me off.

1) That the two in question haven't been put on leave ASAP, currently they are free to use there badges yet.

2) In this country, for all the progress we have made on the civil front, that it really won't surprise us if the police did this.. I mean really can anyone say they believe the boys in blue didn't do it after reading this story?

That speaks sadly upon the policing force of this country.. I know I have little trust in law enforcement and I live in the sticks in north central Wisconsin.. let alone in a large metropolis someplace.

If, I say if these boys in blue are guilty, I hope they turn them loose in the general population of a hard core prison.. someone will return the favor.

This is awful..

He's been through so much in his life and through his childhood

I remember watching a short documentary on him during one of the pregame shows a while back.. don't recall when, maybe it was early last season.

He lived in the back of an abandoned van or something, and sold drugs to provide a living for his family.

His story is so inspiring, how he overcame life on the streets. When you hear about stuff like this it makes you sick to your stomach especially when you know hes already been through a tragic history.

My best wishes to Marvin, his family and to one of the most popular Packers ever.

STAY STRONG

Driver is in our thoughts and prayers.

Donald's fame makes this a very high profile case. If those two officers are still on duty, that makes me think that the police department has damn good reason to believe the accusations are false. No way those two would still be carrying guns and badges if their department didn't believe their side of the story.

Unfortunately, racism does exist in this country, but at least it's not fashionable anymore. HPD wouldn't risk making a PR nightmare worse without good reason.

    Zero2Cool (16-May) : From what I've read, it's all Jets , not us.
CanPackFan (16-May) : Will there ever be a time when Rodgers' whacko views will not reflect on GB? He is the past, thank god.

Zero2Cool (13-May) : I know we moved on. That tidbit just makes me a touch happier.
Zero2Cool (13-May) : Sources spoke of many, many times last summer where Hackett called a play, then Rodgers changed it completely at the line
Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.

    Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
    Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
    Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays
    Zero2Cool (6-May) : Walter Stanely's son
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
