I like the Thor comment...I am even going to present that to him on twitter...even though he never responds to a damn thing.

P.S. some people need to loosen up, haha.

I will loosen up when we are totting the Lombardi on the way to bringing it home this season.. beyond that.. buckle the straps up and lay the wood on people more so than drawing up some TO / Ocho display to sell yourself to make a highlight.. piss on that.

Now.. I am all for celebrating a big play with some spontaneous gesture or whipping something out at a crucial decisive play.. but this nonsense of a samurai chop type bullshit after what should be a somewhat routine play is peewee football nonsense.

In this case.. I see a player with his drive and talent that could become something very special.. I would rather him focus on honing the potential into being a lethal pass rusher than some side show chump like Ocho.

But that is my opinion only.. color me a Wayne Simmons type more so, one mean mother leaving some wondering about his sanity. ๐Ÿ˜‰

1. Spontaneous celebration is fine. Good, even.

2. Choreographed celebration just bugs me. I actually like good choreography, and not just because I'm a leg man from way back. But there's something offputting to me about choreographed "celebration".

Some hypotheticals for your consideration:

Group A:
1. The original Chorus Line musical. Well choreographed by professionals. Good.
2. Paula Abdul doing orginal "Straight Up" video. Well done by a professional dancer. Good.
3. A little kid, imitating Paula in her bedroom. Not well choreographed, but still good.
4. Parents of said little kid expecting neighbors to think the little kid's "dancing" worth their time. Badly choreographed. Bad.

Group B:
1. The Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown. Extremely well choreographed by professionals. Good.
2. Vietnam Vet deciding to put his medals by a buddies name on the wall. Perhaps "planned," but not choreographed. Good.
3. Non-vet tourist, visiting Vietnam wall, moved to public tears. Spontaneous. Good.
4. Veteran announcing candidacy for elected office in front of Wall. Choreographed. Bad.

It seems to me that a sack celebration is good only when one or more of three conditions holds:
i. It is spontaneous and unplanned. Its a natural expression of enjoyment.
ii. The celebration is the heart of the matter: the soldiers who do the ceremony at Arlington are there for one reason, to celebrate and honor those who have served. When a TO or an Ochocinco or the rest plan a celebration, they're saying "look at my choreography", not "look at the game". The soldiers' choreography is aiding their purpose in being there. The NFL "players" aren't.
iii. The celebration is planned and executed by professoional at the celebration. CMIII is not a professional choreographer. He's a professional football player.

The cynic in me finds it highly amusing that even a spontaneous removal of the helmet before off the field is going to yield a penalty, but a grown man acting like the worst spoiled kid can "plan" his celebration in ways that aren't flagged.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The nerd in me started laughing out loud while reading this.

Now, something to consider. What if, CM3 hires Paula Abdul as a choreographer? Let's not forget that before that classic "Straight Up" video (that was hot), Ms. Abdul was a professional choreographer. She choreographed everyone from Janet Jackson to ZZ Top.

Donald Driver is not a professional dancer but his little celebration wiggle is awesome. Some have it, some need consulting. Maybe CM3 just needs the latter?

As for what Pack said, sorry Pack, but I'm going to go with G-Force here. Loosen up. This nation needs more celebrating. Not less. We're heading in the direction of England and that is NOT a good thing.

I've no problem with celebration on dramatic, game-changing plays (the DT pins the QB 23 yards in his backfield). I find celebration on routine plays (a tackle after a three-yard run up the middle) or when a team is playing from way behind irksome.

Especially since those can't be out of excitement alone. I used to run around the field, looking like an idiot after I scored a goal and you just get that extra burst of energy. I can very much imagine why you would want to celebrate after a sack. I don't know why you would want to have something pre-planned, per se, but if it doesn't take anything away from his practice time, I couldn't care less.

The best sack dance is still the simplest one, get to your knee and do a first down signal the other way.

Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
