I think it was RB LeSean McCoy whom said, he doesn't mind QBs being paid more than other positions, as it's the hardest position.
But it pisses him off that to be paid, all other positions must be elite to get elite pay, while QBs can be average as hell and become the top paid guy.
It's a QB and Cap issue... more than it is a talent issue.
Another issue is that we fans (and the media, which direct fans), we look at the total numbers. But that's not how the markets are set.
Like Love and Trevor Lawrence are paid the most money, so fans are flipping out about that, and possibly rightfully so.
Meanwhile, generally contracts are agreed upon in dollars based of a percentage of the cap when the contract is signed.
In other words, while Love and Lawrence are being paid more than some other QBs, they're also getting a smaller percentage of the cap than previous QBs whom are being paid less, but will clearly jump Love and Lawrence's contract when their contract is up.
But yes, it seems like Love is just an above average QB, and not another great one at this time and point. And I hate how some of his passes clearly fall short, or make the receiver wait, or comeback to it, or compete with a DB for it. But he's whom we got right now. Gotta ride with him.
