If you want to think of it this way, Clark is essentially on a two-year, $22.5 million contract with the Packers from a cash flow perspective. From there, Clark has what functions as team options of $20.8 million in 2026 and $19.3 million in 2027. You can see, quickly, how fast the jump in year-to-year dollars rise between the 2024-2025 split of his deal to the 2026-2027 half.

Think of this contract as a pretty cheap one-year extension with two expensive team options tagged onto the end. The Packers, however, can always renegotiate his salary and bonus down, as they have recently with aging veterans like Preston Smith, before the 2026 and/or 2027 seasons.

I just posted the summary, I really like having the team options, as Clark quality has been sliding, while he still puts up major huge quantities of snaps, I would like to see the quality go back up some too and really think getting some more DL to help him might be great. Of course, this scheme might feed into the skills of the other DTs and do just that.

Kenny Clark just feels really over hyped. Maybe it's because of what was asked of him? I don't know. I just don't really see him blowing people up consistently. He does get a decent share of double teams though. They must know something I don't.

This article really helps put the contract in perspective. I wondered why they would splurge on Clark as he nears 30 and the non 1st rounders from the 2022 will be up for FA after the 2025 season along with two potential 5th year options for Walker and Wyatt (though I think only one of them will get picked up at the moment).

Mucky Tundra (20h) : I mean, they traded for Willis after a year and a half of Clifford, seems pretty definitive
TheKanataThrilla (20h) : Do we with Clifford or Willis? You'd think Clifford has a better knowledge of the playbook
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Definitely filing that under the "I'm getting old" category
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Donald Drivers son Christian caught a TD pass playing for the University of Minnesota today.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Packers QB Jordan Love's initial timetable for return is in the 3-6 week range, per sources. And there's some early optimism he could return
Zero2Cool (7-Sep) : Initial tests indicated Jordan Love’s ACL is intact. But there’s a wide range of outcomes based on additional scans, which will occur when t

dfosterf (6-Sep) : Maybe pie still, but no whipped cream, ice cream or milk. Imstead, you get someone else's left over beer from yesterday to go with your pie
dfosterf (6-Sep) : Pie is good. You get no pie and fewer wins in fantasy due to being inflexible
Zero2Cool (5-Sep) : I like pie.
dfosterf (5-Sep) : Loved Gunnys. Never earned that particular rank. Neither did R Lee Armey from full metal jacket fame, but that is another story.
