The only thing I took away from this game is that Peyton Manning is just as big of a pussy in pre-season when he screws up, as in the Super Bowl. No reason at all for him to play a series in the 3rd quarter, but he must of had something to prove? He must have been an overindulged child or something. I can't stand him or his brother, regardless of their outstanging abilities and football aclimen.

His poutface is priceless.

Most teams play their starters for a series in the third quarter of the third preseason game. That's the coach's decision. Manning sure does bitch up a storm out there, though. I think it all comes from his competitiveness (there have been some NBA players like that), but it can get tiresome to watch.

I was disappointed the officials didn't throw a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct when he squawked at them so loudly the referee's microphone picked it up. His dorky, squeaky voice made me laugh out loud.

I'm an extremely competitive person and I will yell at players on my team if they don't give a solid effort, but Manning is on another level entirely. He's whining for a penalty on every single play that doesn't go his way. And the way he pouts on the sidelines makes it impossible for me to respect him. Rodgers has a laid-back, Cali vibe behind the line; Manning bobs and weaves around back there like the twitchy dork everyone picked on in high school.

I respect Peyton Manning for his incredible accomplishments, but I like Aaron Rodgers' style far better. I would not trade Rodgers for Manning, no matter how sweet the deal might be.

The defense continues to concern me. What stops a team with a decent O-line to drop back and make our secondary look like pee wee football. We have GOT to get to the Qb faster on 3rd downs, otherwise we may score alot of points WHEN we have the ball but the opposition will be holding on to the ball as long as they wish.

I think the "it's pre-season and means nothing" caveat should really be a given - I would hope the fans know this by now. So there's that.

I loved Burnett's play - I'm more and more confident about him replacing Bigby while he's out, and perhaps once he's back.

Shields has to make this team - and I'm not talking about that very late interception. I'm talking about a play earlier on, where he was either woefully out of position or had passed the receiver on to the safety - then he pops up and gets his hands on the ball as it's sailing quite some way above his head. I'd love to have seen him catch that ball (that's why he's not a receiver), but the instincts and physical skills to sky up there like that make me positively salivate. Given the solid work he's doing on ST, you have to keep him around to be groomed at CB. I'll be terribly bummed if he doesn't stick.

Zombo was also very impressive. I'm sure he's got some holes in his game at this raw age, but between him and Brad, I'm feeling much better about the OLB position opposite Matthews.

D-line was very nice to watch. Once CM3 is back, that push (and whatever Zombo or Jones, et. al. can do) plus his speed rush is going to be problematic for the other teams' QBs.

It's just a pre-season game, but it's also the one pre-season game anyone puts an ounce of stock in - and they tore Indy up. Great game to watch.

I hope Mike McCarthy drills it into these guys' heads that there is still a lot of work to do.

This team has been the victim of false bravado at times. I hope they've learned their lesson from last years reality checks.

I have a random question for everyone. There was a point in the 4th quarter (I think) where a Packers WR made a nice catch, and they flipped the camera to Donald Driver on the sideline who said (reading his lips), "My boy!" He looked genuinely proud of the WR. Anyone know what receiver that was? Has Donald taken one of them under his wing?

I would also like the answer to this. The receiver showed great form and hands, but I couldn't see his name afterward. I think maybe it was Gore, but I don't even remember his number..

someone i haven't seen anyone talk about - lumpkin.
his running left a little to be desired, but he looked pretty good on a screen pass if i remember correctly. in my eyes, there doesn't seem to be a very big difference between him and jackson.

Most of Lumpkins play comes with him playing with the 12th string Oline too, so its hard to judge his production there, you can only judge decision making\effort, and he showed some good stuff there.

Ryan Grant is the starter(unfortunately) so I'd like to see Lumpkin\Jackson\Kuhn next thursday, in that order. Get a better idea of who has what.
