I can see how some of this mma training can help them on the field.

I didn't realize that Jay Glazer did that type of thing....

But yeah, I can see where it will definitely help Clay Matthews on gameday.

Thanks for posting that, c123. I really think that this is the kind of stuff that makes the difference between good and great. Not MMA specifically, but going the extra mile in training and preparation.

MMA is good for the lungs and lungs matter in the 4th Q. Had our DL had MMA training in the '97 SB loss, we may have won. That game was lost on the line.

Wonder if Rockmolder has the stats for this, but if I remember correctly, Grant is already pretty good in the 4th Q.

You can ask dhazer or maybe it was tromadz ... Grant does have great stats in the 4th because all he does is get garbage time yards.

Although, statistics show he gains slightly more yardage in the first half than the second half.

Garbage time yards? Doesn't make sense, because everyone knows that you will be trying to run the clock down with a lead at the end of the game, therefore they will attempt to stop it.

He is. But not as good as in the 2nd quarter.

He is a diesel, though. His 1st and 3rd quarters aren't that good.

Overal, there's no big change in his production, though... Not last year, at least.

1st Q - 381 yards on 91 attempts for a 4.3 avg.
2nd Q - 305 yards on 61 attempts for a 5.0 avg.
3rd Q - 272 yards on 67 attempts for a 4.1 avg.
4th Q - 351 yards on 74 attempts for a 4.7 avg.

Gotta love the attitude for the both of them, it can only make Clay better at the engage stage, while Grant's conditioning could go to another level. I know there's a lot of negativity around here for Grant, but man I can't be happier with what he's done here. He has amazing work ethic, has stayed relatively heathy over the past couple years, puts up great numbers, and refuses to fumble the ball. Some people might forget exactly what we gave up to get him. I think ever single team in this league would swap us a 6th for Grant now.

Heh. I just knew Rock would come through. Rock - I'd want you to be the stats guy when the zombie plague starts. "Rock - how many bullets do we have left? OK, how many zombies are left? Thanks Rock."

Yeah, does seem like he's a 2nd/4th Q RB.
