I actually think JFK was a stud. How many guys can seriously turn down Marilyn Monroe? I mean, seriously? How cool would that be? I think even my wife would understand. It's freaking Marilyn Monroe.

As for the Dixie Chicks, lots of bands say political things. Slayer is heck of political. Actually, why am I singling out Slayer? A lot of Metal bands say political rants between songs.

But what I'm getting at is do you diss the President like the way the Dixie Chicks did? Is that ok or disrespectful?

Again, i don't think it's disrespectful to give their opinion. It's their "right". But WHERE they are when they do it does matter.

And metal bands, most people that go to those concerts would probably agree with what the bands say, so it's not a big deal to them. But the "Chicks with Dix"....i mean "Dixie Chicks" are country. They were stupid to think their audience would all LOVE them for what they said.

I don't remember exactly what the Dixie Chicks said. But as someone who has regularly been rather disrespectful of the younger Bush (a student once took me to task for calling his policies those of an idiot), I really cant chastise them if they were. (Though I might disrespect them if I thought their own opinions were as idiotic as, say, Michael Moore's.)

I think its disrespectful to go into anyone's sex life unless they ask you to. To my mind adult pornography is less disrespectful than the paparrazi and what passes for "investigative journalism" of the Monicagate sort.

Marilyn Monroe wasn't my type, but I think we both know what I probably would do if I was president and had the chance to sleep with Jessica Biel. And unless I went around blathering about it, it should be wholly irrelevant to how I should be judged as president.

Indeed, I would go farther. IMO, unless I am related (child, parent, spouse), or enforcing a specific law (e.g. sexual assault) it's not just disrespectful for me to pay attention to another person's sexual conduct without their consent, it's a violation of Matthew 7.
