Anyone out there remember Clint Didier when he played for the Packers? I met him last Saturday in Spokane, WA on his campaign tour of Washington as he runs for U.S. Senator.
We went over to Spokane for the day to have dinner at a nice restaurant. My wife had gotten a gift certificate for this place and we had a late reservation so we had lots of time to kill. We were in a park on the Gonzaga University campus watching some old mens league softball games and along comes this tall, salt and pepper haired guy. He comes over to the picnic table we were sitting at and introduces himself.
"Hi, I'm Clint Didier and running for the senate this year. I would sure appreciate your vote."
"Uh, we're not from Washington. We're from Montana and just here for the day."
He said a few more things to us and started to leave when I asked him if he was the same Clint Didier that played for the Packers awhile back. He said he was and and my wife chips in that I'm a from Wisconsin and a big Packer fan. He sits down with us and we talk football for the next 10 minutes.
Nice guy.......I'm going to write his name in our elections here in Montana next fall.
And damn.......I didn't ask him for an autograph.
Anyone for a Weenie Roast?
