So the AP apparently is going to vote again on the rookie DPOY (Cushing will be inlcuded in the voting). Any chance of Clay moving up or even winning it? Should the AP even vote again?

Rookie DPOY revisited

NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting
Player Pos. Team Votes
Brian Cushing LB Texans 39
Jairus Byrd S Bills 6
Clay Matthews LB Packers 3
Brian Orakpo LB Redskins 2

IMO it should be voted again - would make the NFL look bad if they let someone with that took a controlled substance (ie do we even know what it is?) win this award.

and ya it would be cool if clay won it ...

eh, i think they should just take Cushing off and move everybody else up a notch.

Byrd should definitely win it.

They should ask Cushing to reveal what he tested positive for first and if he refuses then I'm all for a re-vote. If he just popped for a "banned substance" and not an actual PED then he should keep his award.

To be honest I say just let it go, we don't need any investigations because I think alot of the USC players used it including CM3. Our best bet would be to just let it go and come on would you really think Byrd would enjoy the award knowing he actually didn't win it but got it because of a penalty. Its like when you make the Pro Bowl as an alternate and the others drop out and you get to play, were you really voted the starter no you got it by default.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

No, it's like when you made the Pro Bowl because the man who was actually going turned out to be a cheater. It's like having the best football team off the era, and losing because of bogus red cards and a biased ref.

But I'm going off-topic.

He did something that was not allowed. Something which would make winning the award easier. I don't see why Byrd would feel bad about winning it now.

Thing is, Cushing's going to run away with it again. That's how good he was. We'll see how bad the drop-off is next year, if there is any.

I don't know, I'm sure come contract time Byrd will definitely want to play the DROY award card. And considering Cushing cheated, it's not like Byrd didn't win or deserve the award.

Hell, if the Olympics allowed you to cheat and keep your medals, I'd consider a career change. Attend one Olympics, cheat your way to the top, retire and keep your medals and records.

Basically what I am saying as a Packer fan I don't want an investigation because it could end up hurting us and CM3.

You don't think that CM3 has been tested, already? To be honest, I'm a little iffy, as well, but Cushing's suspension is not going to lead to idiotic amounts of tests on Mathews. NFL players get those, anyway.
