I hope we keep Sam Shields strictly for kick returning. He couldn't be worse at coverage than Jarret Bush, anyway.

I'm already hoping we can somehow squeeze this guy onto our PS:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2010/draft/players/51200.html

Chris Campbell

Biography: First-year starter awarded All-Conference honors last season.

Positives: Big, athletic tackle with a large degree of upside potential. Blocks with a wide base, stays square, and is a terrific position blocker who seals defenders from the action. Strong enough to turn opponents from their angle of attack and displays good punch with his hands. Blocks with good lean and anchors in pass protection. Better-than- average footwork off the edge and shows the ability to adjust. Attacks assignments and stays square. Recognizes blitzes and slides out laterally to pick them up. Shows a nice degree of competitiveness in his game.

Negatives: Must improve his overall will blocking strength. Falls off blocks and lacks balance. Does not possess natural bulk and gets pushed back off the line by large defenders.

Analysis: Campbell was primarily a reserve his first three seasons at Eastern Illinois then really broke out last season and moves forward as a terrific developmental prospect. He possesses the skills to play left tackle but is also projected to right tackle by some because of his frame and growth potential. He?s a potential late round pick who should make a practice squad next year.

He is a guard.. he is a mauler.. he is a power blocking guard... and he has a nasty disposition on the field.. IMO.. would provide valuable depth and one hell of an option for a short yardage situation..

Not the end of the world.. just a Pack93z type of ball player. 😉

Doesn't change the fact he's an UDFA and might end up on the PS or waiver wire. There's still a chance we could pick him up later. ;)

As for the Sam Shields play, that is something we could use in Green Bay. I'd be breaking TV screens if such an amazing play were negated by a penalty, though.

Coming in for a tryout:

WR Shawn Gore, Bishop University (Canada)

Being in Toronto, I've heard of Gore a bit. Dude can flat out fly - ran the 40 in the range of 4.35 seconds. A touch taller than 6 feet, about 200 pounds.

I'm guessing he is getting a tryout as a KR.

I listened to him today in a interview on Toronto's Fan 590 radio.

He sounds very humble, but also confident enough. I hope he can bring something to the Packers. Nice kid in general.

Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
