I heard those rumors from Niner friends here as well as fellow Packer fans. So sure, maybe just an internet rumor. If so, it's an internet rumor that definitely made some rounds.

The rumors were very real. I live in the Bay Area, and Raiders news is pretty plentiful. All the Raiders fans were all over this trade because they were sick and tired of Randy Moss not being the factor they thought he was.

But the reality of it is Aaron Rodgers wouldn't be able to do anything in Oakland without a Randy Moss, so LOL to them.

If the trade was made, Oakland would've taken Calvin Johnson No. 1 overall. He may of had something to play around with.

The thing is in Oakland, everyone is walking on eggshells. The coaches, the players, everyone. Morale is horrible. Hard to win with morale being so bad.

I love Aaron and easily put him in the elite category, but even an elite QB would fail in Oakland. Even with Johnson. Heck, even with Johnson and a healthy Javon Walker.

As far as I remember Ted Thompson said that he went to bed Saturday thinking Moss was going to be a member of the Packers, but on Sunday morning the Raiders felt they had a better deal with the Patriots. Moss was traded to the Patriots for a fourth-round pick. Rodgers was a first-round pick and I'm pretty sure Ted Thompson had offered a fifth-round pick for Moss.

In my mind it's completely made-up bullshit that we would have traded our former first-round pick when all the Patriots gave up was a fourth-round pick.

I wish I could find the article where Ted Thompson says this.

After some searching I found out it was Bob Harlan who allegedly said they "went to bed thinking Moss was a part of the Packers."

Something like that. I too remember either Ted Thompson or Harlan saying they went to bed thinking Randy was going to be a Packer.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Because New England was thinking about it and the opportunity to go to New England was one Moss couldn't pass up.

Plus NE offered a 4th and I'm pretty sure GB offered a 5th.

If they made the offer and it was up to Oakland to accept or not. I don't see how that is Ted "waiting too long"
