There will be no camp competition for either tackle starting spot. Clifton will start at LT, Tauscher at RT, Wells solidified his spot at center, Spitz will replace College at LG, Sitton at RG.

I don't care how good someone looks in OTA's, training camp, and pre-season.

These 5 guys should be the #1's throughout the whole process, let the rest of the guys fight it out for back-up spots.(Packers now have some good young guys who aren't quite ready, but can fill in in an emergency.

Kudos to Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy for bringing Clifton and Tauscher back, when healthy they are the best options.

History shows that an O-line has to be together week in week out for 2-3 years to gell.

Packers O-line stays healthy this offense is going to be real hard to stop for 60 minutes.

Damn, I just might have to change my sig. if Ted Thompson keeps this shit up!!!

It blows my mind that there is actually a school of thought that believes we should hand Clifton, who's had both knees operated on and has had multiple other surgeries in recent memory, the starting job uncontested.

I still lay the over/under for complete games played by Clifton this season at 8.5. Make the man earn his job.

Hell, make Tauscher earn his too.

I'm still pissed we're rolling into our offseason program with these two as our penciled-in starters.

I'm not quite so sure they are "penciled-in" as our starters. Most likely Clifton is going into the season as the starter, but I see a competition at RT between Tauscher/Lang/Giacomini throughout the first few weeks of training camp. Giacomini should finally be healthy enough to prove why the coaching staff is keeping around. Plus it isn't exactly a terrible thing to have a vet as a backup to step in if needed. Clifton was signed out of need, while Tauscher was signed as insurance, IMHO.

I think the only starters 'penciled' in are Rodgers and Woodson.

We don't have that many holes, but I would be a lot more comfortable having quality backups at positions like LT and corner. And for the love of God if we go into the season with Atari Bigby starting at safety, I will not even get excited about a deep playoff run. The guy runs with shoes filled with cement. I don't rip on Uncle Ted hardly ever, but I am truly disappoint with his lack of attention to this position.

And he's made of glass. There's a big chance that we'll be playing with Martin at S the way it looks now. Let's hope that we can find a rookie in the early rounds.

I do believe that Clifton is as good as penciled in as a starter. Who else is going to start at LT? The coaching staff can say whatever it wants, but Clifton will start in week 1.

I think that Sitton and Tauscher are as good as penciled in, as well.

Rodgers, Grant, Jennings, Driver, Finley, Clifton, Sitton, Spitz, Tauscher, Pickett, Jenkins, Barnett, Hawk, Matthews, Woodson, Collins.

Those are all as good as sure starters to me. With Spitz being able to start at either LG or C.

I'll give you Collins, Pickett and Finley. Probably Jennings too, but don't think for a second that if outperformed that Crosby or Grant or even Driver or Barnett or Matthews III will be supplanted as starters. It's a league of what have you done for me lately, not last year.

Not in Packer Nation. This is a place where we drool over people for what they did half a decade or more ago and get offended when our front office wants to move on.
