And hopefully Tiger will be too.

Everybody says this shit because it's the PC thing to say, or they are on their "high-horse". I don't roll that way, strange poontang-wise, but I don't have women tossing themselves at me constantly, either.

I don't hit the lottery every day, either, lol

Do I really give a shit that he cheated on his wife?

Fuck no. If she don't like it, she can take her 100 mil or whatever and hit the friggin' trail. The kids aren't going to suffer, for Christ sake.

The women were kinda low-level for a billionaire and all, but that's just a personal opinion.

Was it sleazy on his part? Sure. So what. Let's move on, nothin' to see, he went through his SILLY-ASSED "rehab"-- (I would have been picking up chicks there, but that's me, lol lol lol---)

The man is the best golfer ever. If he gets pissed on the course, so what?

It took me 10 years to not get rattled on the 1st tee when people were waiting. I can't make a six footer with five bucks on the line.

What he does is nothing short of amazing in the context of the constant attention/gallery/etc. on that golf course.

I hope Tiger is there for you.

Lucky dog.

My evaluation of Tiger has nothing to do with political correctness or his sexual behavior. It has everything to do with the fact that a) I am not a big fan of golf; and b) I think a grown man looks silly when he's cussing on the golf course. Tiger strikes me as someone who needs to unbend a bit and realize he won't always be perfect, that he's not entitled to unending success.

Peyton Manning is apparently in an open relationship with his wife. Knowledge of that doesn't affect my opinion of him as a football player one iota. I'm the first to acknowledge his greatness on the field (in fact, I'm probably his biggest apologist on this site), but watching his histrionics behind the line of scrimmage, his throwing mechanics, and his sulky attitude on the sideline makes me want to scream.

You have never seen me golf... these days.. it bothers me little, but when in college and golfing almost every day (free on the GB campus); I had a tendency to go a little Gilmore before he was even thought of.. ;)

I would become pretty decent, yet it never failed that I would have one shot that would piss me off a round.. lol.

I think swearing was invented on a golf course.

OK, maybe not, but that's where it should have been invented.

Jack had to make his eyebrows touch the green to make a putt, I don't hear anyone begrudging him for that. (It's a joke for the cognoscenti)

I LIKE the fact that Tiger gets pissed and swears on the course.

I think you have to golf to get that part.

If you are not "into" golf, I can certainly see why a lot of Tiger's shit would irritate... At the same time, non-golfers need to realize just what a BITCH of a game it is to play well, and further, why Tiger is so very admired by his golfing fans. He is hated by other golfing fans, no doubt, but his fans aren't likely to toss him under the bus because of his stupid infidelities on a permanent basis. A couple of nice birdies on the par 5's in a major and he's back in the good graces of us golf nuts. :thumbleft:

Tiger's college girlfriend speaks out
By Irene Folstrom
Published: March 03, 2010

[img_r]http://img.timeinc.net/golf/i/tours/2010/03/mar2_folstrom_299x199.jpg[/img_r]Tiger Woods was my boyfriend for a year and a half while we were both undergraduates at Stanford. I've never spoken to the press about him; I'm not coming forward now for money or to advance any pathetic showbiz aspirations, but merely to stick up for a friend. I haven't seen Tiger since the late 90s, but I know who he is at his core because we were together during some of his most formative years. He was so human and cared so much about other people and the world around him. This may surprise some people, but Tiger was a great boyfriend.

I have so many fond memories of our time together. At that age Tiger had an amazing metabolism so we spent a lot of time eating. Our favorite restaurant was a Chinese joint in Mountain View; the guys there must have been golf fans because they always gave us free desserts, which was a big deal to us.

I walked many golf courses watching Tiger play, sometimes with his mother, Tida. I grew up on an Indian reservation in Minnesota, and I think Tida accepted me so readily because Tiger and I shared many of the same values. Earl and I talked a lot about politics and national affairs, and Earl often made me laugh so hard, my stomach muscles cramped. He loved to tease Tiger and me about our puppy love.

During our Southern California road trips Tiger and I spent a lot of time at the beach. We would steal a bottle of whiskey from Earl or Id use my fake ID to buy a jug of wine, and wed hang out and dream about the future. Tiger was very driven to be a great golfer, but he also talked a lot about wanting to make a larger contribution to society. Settling down was not a priority; Earl had drilled into Tiger that he should wait until his 30s to get married.

Our relationship ended when Tiger turned pro after his sophomore year. Becoming the first person in my family to earn a college degree was so important to me that I wasnt willing to give up my studies to follow him. Like everyone else, I was shocked by the revelations about his infidelities. The Tiger I knew was loyal, devoted and self-controlled. Im not naive, but I can say with certainty that he was faithful during the time we dated. The speculation that he's being treated for sex addiction is surprising because we enjoyed a normal sexual relationship.

I dont have any insight into how he led such a double life. I will say that Tiger had an ability to shut things out and compartmentalize his emotions. Even back then he felt enormous pressure to be Tiger Woods. Maybe this was his form of escape.

Obviously Tiger has made some big mistakes, but hes apologized and seems to be trying to heal himself and his family. I hope the public will forgive him because he deserves a second chance. Hes a good person with a caring heart.

The big paragraph is so absolutely true. As a guy that rarely swears, it's quite a challenge to NOT swear on a course.

dfosterf (2-Jan) : Hats off to the Beast
dfosterf (2-Jan) : I'm at 71.76% in pick 'em. 2nd place. Beast is at a flat 75% 9 games ahead. That 75% has got to be unprecedented this late in the season

Zero2Cool (2-Jan) : BTW, not serious.
Zero2Cool (2-Jan) : You don't care about it either!!!!
