This is well in advance of our trip to Roswell NM for our Grandson's graduation in mid May, but do any of you out there know of an alternate route through Denver....North to South....besides I-25? We have traveled this before several times and at the time we usually hit Denver, rush hour is in full swing. I know the timing is bad, but traveling that far we hit Denver about 5-6 pm. Denver drivers are suicidal.

I've looked at the maps and it seems that US 287, just west of I-25 is straight and true clear past the city center. Anyone ever traveled this way or know of a better way?

No Cheesey, I'm not taking the Grafton exit bypass. Just a couple miles out of our way.
