Speaking of missed calls.. There was a play that was whistled dead in the Cows/Vikes game and Favre was PLANTED. There was no penalty called on that defender.

Just wanted to clear up the air that people tend to think that Favre gets preferred treatment by the officials.

Exactly what I was thinking. If you want to play through the whistle to get that throw off, you have to accept the consequences, as well.

That said, there where some pretty bad PI calls, etc.

Regarding the lack of penalty, at first I was in total agreement, the problem was how late the whistle came. To me there was no way the defender could have stopped himself from the hit.

Favre throwing the ball after the whistle doesn't directly affect someone getting hurt.

Favre getting planted after the whistle does.

If you were the defender and you thought you hear a whistle and look up and see Brett doing what he was doing. Would you stop. I would probably think it was not a real whistle.
