Sports Illustrated's Playoff Predictions

Sports Illustrated just published predictions from nine of their writers on how the playoffs will play out. Here's the link:

All nine of them pick the Packers to beat the Cardinals, five of them pick the Packers to make it to the Super Bowl, and one of them picks the Packers to win it all.

So I guess this means that the Packers can forget about sneaking up on anyone in the postseason.

ahh holy shit is right - notice most guys pick the chargers also more then the colts for taking it all.

seems like the guys giving momentum a strong hand in who will win. I like it.

Oh, man. Kerry J. Byrne's scenario is just perfect.

Have to agree with most of those scenarios. The Chargers are on fire. I don't know if anyone can beat them if they keep playing the way they've been doing lately.

I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't feel those types of things have an effect on how a person or team performs.

edit: if they're a professional, anyway

It's hard to tell. Football is a very emotional game, so I think sometimes it does have an effect. But probably more in the regular season than in the postseason. In the playoffs, both teams are usually totally psyched up to begin with--as they should be, with the season on the line.
