Remember earlier in the season, the Packers defense had their backs to the wall a number of times. Opposing teams would get the ball in scoring position, so the stats may be skewed to deceptively higher points and deceptively lower yards.

You guys should consider the Defensive Hog Index. It's a fairly new chart that weighs the strengths of a defense's defensive line. It first started in 2007 and has correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner each year...2007 Giants and 2008 Steelers.

But guess who is at the top this year?

Two seasons is not a large enough sample size to make a judgment as to the effectiveness of this index, but I believe CHFF has done some retroactive calculations and shown their index would have predicted the Super Bowl winner in previous years, too.

But wow. Green Bay with an overall average of 3.3. No one else is even close.

I've thought about this quite a bit, but for it to really have a lot of merit i think you need to see a large difference in yards and points given up, if you're #1 in yards and #24 in points, then its an obvious case of all too often playing D on a short field. But the packers are top 10 in both yards and points.

the colts are 23rd on the list ... that would be wild if they lost their first playoff game. I think zombie said this - be an interesting game to see the pack vs the chargers in the SB.

Yeah, I don't remember if I said that on the board or in chat, but that's my prediction for the SB.
