I like what AKamp said. A lot has changed. We were a 6-10 team last year. This year, we're in the Playoffs and have won 5 straight.

I think it's all about momentum. Chargers have it. We have it. The Colts and Saints both have it. Steelers don't have it. They're a team on the decline.

For the most part, I agree with what AADP and Akamp said. AADP's points are insightful and logical. Akamp's words were very inspiring and get me psyched.

But, for me I think the point really comes down to the fact that I don't believe in the myth of momentum in football. I just don't. Analysts talk about it all the time, but just watch how easy it is for the losing team to totally turn the tables on one play. One play can change the whole energy of the game. That's not momentum, as momentum by definition takes time to build up. So, if there were such a thing in football, the Packers would have it right now, with 5 wins in a row. But I just don't believe it, because in the NFL, fortunes can change in the blink of an eye, with one play.

Now, what I do believe in is the power of fierce desperation. This is what makes me worried about the Steelers, regardless of the logical argument laid out by AADP. I'm worried about the Steelers coming together and having a "come to Jesus" meeting like the Packers did after the Tampa loss. We came out the next week with nothing to lose, and a team with nothing to lose is a dangerous team. Honestly, after the Tampa loss and the "come to Jesus" meeting (man, i love that), Dallas didn't stand a chance in hell! So it's not that I think the Steelers are the better team or that the Packers will not be prepared, but the desperation that I'm sure the Steelers are feeling is the wildcard in this situation. That specifically is what worries me about this game.

Having said that, the Packers SHOULD win this game. And the Packers damn well better win it, because that's what playoff teams do!

Look no further than Green Bay following the Tampa Bay loss as an example to why Pittsburgh will win this game. Dallas was flying high when they entered Green Bay and the Packers with their backs up against the wall played a great game and beat them in quite a few phases.

The Packers at this time remind me a lot of Dallas at that time. Pittsburgh reminds me a lot of Green Bay about a month ago.

With that said, Pittsburgh is a different defense without Troy Polamalu. If Rodgers gets time, he could pick their secondary apart and JerMichael Finley down the seam could be a real threat.

I also wouldn't rule out Pittsburgh getting at Rodgers several times in this game. This is a real good test for the Packers' offensive line and whether they could handle a Minnesota pass rush in the playoffs. Pittsburgh can flat out get after the QB as well as anyone not wearing purple.

I'm not sure the Packers win this game, but I certainly wouldn't be down on GB if they did lose.

Whether we win this game or not will be dependent on how the Packers play, not how well the Steelers play. When we're on fire there ain't a single team that can beat us. Thing is, we haven't really strung 4 quarters together of dominating football.

I feel the same way.

Truth be told, I'm not interested in watching this game to see if the Packers win, I'm much more interested in seeing how your team handles a playoff atmosphere.

They are going into a hostile environment, against a team that has to win. In essence, the Packers are going against a team in 'do or die' mode because they cannot afford to lose another game. The Steelers will be pumped, and will truly be playing like its playoff football.

The way our young team, especially young starters, handle that will be very interesting.

90% of that logic applies to the Steelers last week vs. Cleveland though, PLUS the added motivation of making it to the playoffs, which really isn't there this week.

This game is unpredictable at best.

You wrote exactly what I was going to write, except you wrote it better than I would have.

I've had this game pencilled in as an L all season, but after the Steelers lost to the Browns last week, I've come to think that this game is a toss-up. The Packers can afford to lose it, so I won't be upset if they do. I just hope it doesn't turn into a nasty game where players get injured.

I think this might be a good game for the Packers to try some new things.

The Browns sacked Ben 8 times. It would be a miracle if they were able to fix that O'Line in 10 days. I think the Packers will get their share of sacks this game and keep a lot of pressure on Ben. We can stop the running game so what's left for them? They will have to stop us from scoring. Their defense is capable of doing that but can they keep that up all game with all the weapons Aaron has and with no TP on the field ?

I think it will be a low scoring game with GB coming out on top. The closer the game gets the better I feel about it.

I'm starting to feel the same way DGB. I still am worried about the desperation of the Steelers; by all means, this entire game will be like a Hail Mary for them. But all the reasons, and there are many, that the Packers should win this game are making me feel better and better about it.

i like to read more than post, because you all pretty much have very good input on the games. i didn't see the browns game but did see the ravens game, and in that game, they were able to get to ben a lot,now mind you ben isn't just going to lay down he is tough, their d-line gave up on the run that's why that came out a close game.we stop the run and get to ben and stop holmes witch i think we can do this should be a win.

Zero2Cool (4h) : Merry Christmas!
beast (13h) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (21h) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
