We committed some pretty awful and blatant penalties this game but what got me the most was the horrendous calls the officials made.

1. What happened on that Matthews roughing the passer call at the start of the game? It's illegal to accidentally brush the QB in the helmet with your hand? I mean, I understand that QB's are pussies and the league feels they have to protect them but come on, that call is ridiculous. Maybe if he hit him with force or drove a shoulder or helmet into him but that call was atrocious.

2. I had forgotten about the call on Matthews until Rodgers got knocked over about a full second after he threw the ball. If they call the one on Matthews how in the world can they not call one when Rodgers is blatantly knocked down?

3. The non-holding calls on the LT of the Lions who was blocking Clay Matthews on one of their last drives. There were two in a row that were just terrible. On the first one that gave the Lions their momentum (a 30+ yard pass play) Stafford stepped up and around his LT and scrambled to the left before unleashing the throw. The thing is Matthews was coming hard off the edge and simply got wrapped and tackled. It was so obvious I started screaming cuss words at my television in front of my family.

What do you guys think?

I heard somewhere that every game gets reviewed on a refereeing standpoint and they issue out fines but I can't confirm it. If it's true these refs might see a big drop in their paychecks for this game.

Glad someone else noticed Clay being almost clothes lined on 2 straight plays

I was screaming at the 1st one, then even louder at the 2nd one..

1. Any player in the NFL should know that not even a finger can touch the QB's face/head, and the Packers have hands to the face a lot! Ticky tacky, yes...surprising, no!

2. My thoughts exactly...that was some bad non calling right there!

3, Yes, Clay was mugged, and no call.

haha, I thought I was the only one who noticed these. Good to know it was that obvious.

Agreed. You might knock some of the opposing qb's makeup off, and that would be TERRIBLE.

There were bad calls on both sides, just like there are every game.

As for the block in the back on Bigby, that was one of the dumbest penalties I've ever seen. Wow.

I too was screaming at the TV. I am pretty tired of having our athletic outside linebackers getting hog tied by huge fat slow OT's. It really is not right, but until someone makes a complaint to the league, it will continue. Good call man, but I think we are SOL on this.

The call against Matthews is a standard call that the officials never fail to make. I don't like the rule, but everybody knows it. The officials were just following the rule book.

I did not notice Matthews getting held. I will look for that when I re-watch the game.

I agree with IronMan about the Bigby penalty. Usually I don't see those blocks in the back until they show the replay, but that one was obvious even at full speed, as I was watching the ball.
