If Harris and Kampman will indeed be out for the season, we'll have 3 free roster spots.

I asume that we'll sign a corner. The most obvious option would be Trevor Ford, who is currently on our PS. Especially since there aren't a lot of good FA CBs out there right now.

We're still somewhat deep at OLB. We might see Obiozor, but that's not as much of a given to me as a corner. Maybe we can get Stryker Sulak back on our PS. Yeah.

Then again, maybe we won't sign anyone.

Obiozor's a beast, from what I understand. He's one of those crazy guys who brings an attitude. I thought Ford was solid.
I look for plenty of "big okie." Nick Collins could probably also play some CB. He's got crazy speed for a safety. And he wants a big new contract.

Interesting point, nerdmann, about Nick Collins play CB.

Can someone please post a list of the F/A CB's? I looked on NFL.com but I couldn't seem to find a list of them anywhere. If you'd be so kind, I'd appreciate it if someone would do so.

Biggest names on the list I see:

Mike McKenzie
Jason David
Brian Kelly
Ricky Manning, Jr.

The list is somewhat outdated, as guys like Chris McAlister and Dre Bly have been signed already.

On the record, I don't think we sign any of these players, but I do believe any of them would be an immediate upgrade over Jarrett Bush.

I didnt like trevor ford or underwood in the preseason games. Thought both sucked it up. Especially underwood (guy looks like a skinny toothpick).

Mike McKenzie...why not. Already brought back Ahman and Taush this season

McKenzie is an interesting option, considering the Packers have brought back Taush and Green.

Not sure what he has left though...

I'd say a CB is much more important than LB - we've got Jones/Poppinga and I'd guess that Chillar could rotate at OLB as well.

CB... well after Underwood, we have no one. That's tough.

I would agree. Really need a corner badly to replace Al. Pretty stacked at linebacker.

You have to think about the trickle down effect - who shifts over at FS for Collins? Martin? I sure hope not.

Nick is too valuable to switch into a CB. That said, he'll certainly see his share of action having to come down and play as a pseudo-CB where he is still the FS, but instead comes down and is matched up on a receiver one-on-one.
