Anyone else mildly surprised Will The Thrill Blackmon got 30?

Totally. I was actually doubting that one. Then again, there's no reason to believe that he hasn't gotten that score. I mean, he doesn't act like an ass, gives good interviews etc.

One thing I was slightly surprised about was Ryan Grant scoring 26 (Pretty high for a HB), Nick Barnett 25 (Good player, but figured him to be around 18) and Greg Jennings 18 (Was sure that he'd be over 25 at least).

I was thinking Will would be higher than Rodgers. If you listen to him on his interviews even as a rookie, the guy is incredibly smart. And he also switched positions in college and performed fairly well. He is naturally a CB, but his final year in college, even though it would hurt his draft stock, he played WR to help out the team.

I've liked Will for a long time. However, he's too injury prone and I'd like to see him move on.

Nick Barnett is a heck of a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Yeah, I know he needs to check his English, but his brain works pretty fast. He's one of those guys who is always thinking. I actually thought it would be higher.

I knew Rodgers was highly intelligent and that comes as no surprise. The person's score though I really wanted to see what Jason Spitz's. I wouldn't be surprised if it's around Rodgers' score.

I would've liked to find Spitz's score, as well. I think that he'd be around Colledge's score of 30. Maybe a bit higher. 34 or something.

And I agree. Nick Barnett plays pretty smart. The bad English and irrational responses to some things just threw me off. I really though it would've been lower.

Proposed revisions to wonderlic... I'll go first.

Question 1.

You are a dumber than dirt athlete that was coddled your whole life, including obtaining a degree from some shit-box school in the SEC based largely on your 40 time. You are on special teams for an NFL team, making millions of dollars, and you are kicking off. As you are running down the field in coverage do you:

A- Stay in your assigned lane as per the coaching you have received ever since you showed up at training camp.

B- Wing it and use your superior athleticism and finely honed intuition in order to make an "outside the box thinking" play on the kick returner.

C- Ignore the returner completely, instead focusing on taking off the head of the asshole that cheap-shotted you your sophomore year in college.

D- Stay the fuck out of this whole special-teams bullshit completely, as the stupid coaches should have never put such a superior human specimen at risk by making him run downfield in such a minor role.

Nice. I'd have to go for "C" and take out that dude that cheap shotted me.

Nick Collins shows us that football smarts aren't related to your wonderlic score. The man has some vision.

But who says he didn't?

If he didn't, that in itsself shows that he in the brightest guy. Wonderlic scores are one thing that you're looking at when you're drafting a safety. Had he had a better one, I'm pretty sure that he would've gone early in the second.

I guess I just don't really care about them or see the interest in it. It was neat seeing the listing of each player though. I just think its pointless to say 'this' or 'that' about a player because of the wonderlic. The 40 yard dash time discussion is worth more attention in my opinion. 🙂

Funny that you mention that.

I wanted to make a complete list of these measurables. 40 yard dash obviously being the most important one next to the requested Wonderlic. After a couple of hours of searching, I had enough of it, though.
