Good post, RedSoxExcel. It was a crummy loss. Most of it looked like a replay of the first game. This time the comeback effort was more serious, as they actually had the ball with a chance to take the lead at one point, but other than that, it was like watching the first game all over again. I knew they were in trouble when they failed to hit the Vikings in the mouth early, when they had the chance.

Somehow I don't think McCarthy and Thompson are happy about the Favre thing. On the contrary, the Favre thing is what makes the 4-3 record (while the Vikes are 7-1 with Favre) look a lot worse than it would otherwise. But it's over now, and we move on from here.

I think the first half lost us the game. You can't be down 24-3 with a couple minutes into the 2nd half and expect to win.

The first half, the whole team sucked, Aaron held the ball too long and threw the balloff target, probably just a bit too excited, understandable. The defense did the same challenge Favre to find hte openman, etc.

Why didn't we make the adjustments we made at half, inbetween game 1 and game 2. They played the first half hte same as they played the Vikings in Game 1. I don't get it, why not adjust.

This hurts. This sucks.

How is it possible that BRAD Childress has built a better team than Ted Thompson/Mike McCarthy. Mike McCarthy got outcoached, plain and simple.

Vikings lost Winfield and they didn't collapse, their DBs sucked big time but they still won. A few injuries isn't going to destroy them.

The penalties on us, those are inexcusable. I didn't see ONE penalty that we did not deserve, thats on coaching.

We didn't win AND had no turnovers. And the Vikings had that stupid fumble on the KR and the botched snap. And we STILL lost by 12 points. Its pathetic

Well at least we're 4-3 and still have 9 games to go and WC is still very possible. But right now this HURTS. To watch someone come in here and embarass us like that, 4 TD's, HE'S FORTY YEARS OLD!

Honestly if i was Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy, I'd be so happy about those whole Favre thing, it takes the focus off on their real problems. They should actually pray to god everyday and thank him or her for the Favre thing.

I know it hurts you guys now, but I don't think it is time to give up on McCarthy or the team just yet. Looking at Rodgers I think they did the right thing at QB and you guys have a keeper there. They are building through the draft and you have a great core of players.

The Vikings OTOH have a great team now and some great talent, but IMO that will be a short lived pleasure for us fans as they have spent most of the future salary allocations on FA's and they are going to find it hard to re ink guys when their contracts come up.

You guys got beat by a more talented team, not by a better coached team. The one thing that your front office should have done was to take some of the money they saved by not having #4 and spent it on some quality OL depth. Rodgers may have a short career if they don't figure out how to protect him.

Anyways don't hang your heads too low, your team will be back on top soon.

Hopefully this is gracious enough in victory for you.

It's appreciated. And expected from you.

You're right, but like you said, it's just that it kind off hurts right now.

If we didn't play like complete jack-asses at the beginning, this game might've even been better. Had my blood pressure up to 140 over 100 or something already, lol.

EDIT: Sounds somewhat bitchy, but it was meant as a compliment. Lol.

That penalty by Jolly really changed the game for the worse for your team. If not for that penalty at that time you guys might have been in better shape.

Then again if Childress or Bevell had any balls at the end of the 2nd quarter we might have been able to put the game away right there and then. I was very nervous about not stepping on the proverbial throat when you guys were reeling. I guess for me it ended up OK anyway.

What is there left to salvage with a pathetic o-line and really no indication that the offensive inconsistency that has plagued us throughout the Mike McCarthy era will be settled any time soon...

Penalties, damn poor o-line play, no run game, poor starts to football games...

Fact is that the two times this Packers team had games similar to playoff atmosphere, they flat out got beat.

I'm friggin upset as hell we lost today, but I'm more upset that there is seemignly no sunrise in that the main issues which kill us, killed us again today.

Mike McCarthy better evaluate his coaches damn hard. Ted better evaluate the entire team (players, coaches, himself) real hard.

Two years in a row we've heard that this team is "talented", and supposedly it can be a playoff team. Beyond beating mediocre teams, this team struggles when facing good play-off type competition.

Either we have coaches who can't coach the talent properly to win games, or our personnel dept. with Ted Thompson at the top has over-estimated the impact ability talent and it needs to get fixed.

This was as close to a must win as you can get in week 7, and we come out on the losing end.

This shit just got old, for me.

People should be buying the Vikings like crazy right now. Stop selling them because you're upset the Packers aren't better. The fact is, Minnesota is one of the five best teams in football right now and GB got beat.

The state of the Packers franchise is this.

Average with potential....

Just not as good as the Vikings.

Admit it and move on.

In the 90's, Green Bay wasn't as good as Dallas, but that wasn't a reason to clean house then. This outrage that some have is only at an all time high because of who is playing QB for the Vikings and he's pretty damn good himself.

I would say this... The game that will be a good indicator on whether or not GB is a wild card contender is two weeks at home against Dallas. I think those two teams are on a similar level.

Minnesota is superior just like they were in 98, 01, and to some extent last season. They'll be superior again in the future too. That's a great team.

I checked my crystal ball and it says the Vikings won't continue to be superior in the future. It says they will decline in a year or two. While the Packers improve.

I think my crystal ball is tinted with green.

Well-said, Porky. The Vikings are damned impressive, as much as I hate to say it. There's nothing left to do but hope they choke it away late in the season. It's happened before.
