When the Green Bay Packers play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, the NFC's best quarterback for the month of October will be on the field. And he plays for the Packers.

Wednesday Aaron Rodgers was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Month.

Rodgers has thrown for a combined 988 yards and seven touchdowns in the three games. He's had four straight games with a passer rating above 100. Of course he's 2-1 this month -- the loss being to the Vikings at the Metrodome.

It's all pretty impressive but apparently not enough for his own coach.

"Aaron Rodgers, he just won the NFC Offensive Player of the Month and we haven't even given him a game ball yet, so I think we need to take a closer look at how we're judging him," head coach Mike McCarthy said.

"Yeah, they seem real sensitive about that. It's a great award, but a game ball is good, means you won the game. We've lost two games, so that's not good. The award is nice but getting a game ball means more," Rodgers said.

Round of applause for our QB!

If Aaron isn't getting the game ball, that's because someone else is stepping up and having a great game. That's a wonderful problem to have.

OK, now I'm wondering who got the game ball every game.

Two thumbs way up for Aaron though. I think he's got a good shot at the Pro Bowl this year. He's also a long shot for the MVP, but at least now he'll be in consideration for it. Is that premature for me to bring that up? Depends if he finishes the season with lots of TDs and we're in the Playoffs.

EDIT: I do think P Manning and Brees are way ahead of him in MVP votes as of 10/29/09. I'm just saying he's in consideration now.

Packers only give game balls when they win.

I am hoping November 1st, regardless of the game Rodgers has, he is given the game ball when we win.

Yes, and we won 4 games. So my question still stands - who got those game balls? Anyone know?
