http://www.wapl.com/events/funeral-4-favre_oct_30_2009-nov_1_2009/

Rick and Len will broadcast live, 3-6pm on Friday, October 30th from Tom, Dick, and Harry's in Green Bay for the funeral. Then the coffin will "lie in state" through the weekend and up to WAPL's Rockin' Apple Red Zone party on Sunday, November 1st. We're holding the funeral... it's up to the Green and Gold to bury him on Sunday.

Faux-Funeral proceedings will include:

Follow the Hearse! Funeral procession to Tom, Dick, and Harry's.
Pall Bearers! Help carry the dummy #4 in his coffin.

Eulogies! Rick, Len, and the listeners pay their (dis)respects to Green Bay's former QB.

Music! On-site organist Marc Golde will provide some mood music, plus the Rockin' Apple will be blasting some appropriate tunes for the afternoon.

In Lieu of Flowers! Donate your old #4 memorabilia or make a cash donation to area charities.

Time to Move On! Finally let go of your feelings for the old QB when you win a new Aaron Rodgers jersey!

And more...

Again... bring your old Favre memorabilia to donate, or make a cash donation to the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation at the event!

Its pretty intense, they are having a Favre dummy in the coffin. Sounds kind of morbid and just a tiny bit bitter but to each his own. But good cause as you make cash donations to Deanna Hope Foundation in lieu of flowers and after all, it is Halloween.

Is anyone going? I would be interested to see what kind of turnout they get and how it goes.

The charity donations make it allright. Sort of an equalizer for a tad bit tasteless event.

Posted it in the Shout yesterday.. think it speaks poorly.

But I could be jaded in my humor.

I wonder if they received Deanna's permission to use her foundation in connection with this?

Good point, legal issue I guess. Because obviously with a corporate trademark or celebrity image rights, etc. you need the permission but I wonder the same rights apply to a charity.

But even if they do apply, there is not much that Deanna could do because she would essentially be wasting money on legal costs to stop it AND taking away from potential revenues from the event.

Rockmolder you are understating things a bit!

I could see having a #4 jersey burning day but... what do I know.

Classless, but being in radio, I have seen worse. Anything for a rating boost.
The only thing that saves it, is proceeds going to D's foundation.

This is totally tasteless. I prefer my approach to this game. I'm simply using my Favre Jersey as a doormat out in front of my house.
